Re: Sydney Organized Crime VS Melbourne Organized Crime

Always a possibility.... But i'm not sayin specifically if the two cities did infact go to war with eachother.. I'm just askin simply how do you think Sydney and Melbourne would compare with their ordeals of organized crime; and how would the criminal figures/mobs I listed from each city compare bac...

Sydney Organized Crime VS Melbourne Organized Crime

How did you think Sydney's organized crime in the early to mid 90's (Abe Saffron, Michael Hurley, Raymon Youramon/Dlasthr, 5T, Danny Karam/DK's Boys, Chinese Triad syndiates..) compared to that of Melbourne's underworld scene (The Moran Family, The Carlton Crew, Carl Williams, Tony Mokbel, Victor Pi...

Peckham Boys and several Yardie gangs have been running London for the last few years and probably still are makin some noise to this day...
As far as more business structured, underworld organised crime groups are concerned - I wouldnt have a clue, they are too shrouded in secrecy....

From what i've heard, yes - to a certain extent.. But definately not as powerful as what they used to be in the 90's.. Obviously because Mark, Jason and Lewis Moran are now all dead.. But I believe Desmond ''Tuppence'' Moran (Lewis's brother) is still running the family business along with his assoc...

Lads (Australian graffiti gangs)

Here in Australia, we got our own version of what the British know as a ''chav''... We simply call them ''Lads''... Lads are heavily involved in Australia's graffiti movement, yet are also well reknown throughout the Aussie hip-hop culture and rave scene. The "Lad" is a subculture which is somewhat ...

The "Irish Mob" in Australia are the gangsters/waterfront workers in the Melbourne docklands who were associated with The Painters And Dockers Union before it disbanded in 1984.
These include: The Moran Family, Graham Kinniburgh, Victor Pierce, Pat Shannon, Desmond Costello etc...

Their is no real 18th Street, MS-13 or Armenian Power in Australia.. They are simply gangs of youths with the same ethnic background as these gangs who have adopted the same name in hopes that they can spark their own little branch...They are purely wannabe's who are trying to be like the real gangs...

^^ I heavily doubt that...

Along with it though, Danny Karam was also a big player in Sydney's underworld.. He controlled a lot of the drug scene in King's Cross along with members of his syndicate, DK's Boys.

The Ibrahim family who are closely affiliatied with the Nomads MC run a lot of clubs in King's Cross.
You'll find that the owners of nightclubs, strip clubs etc. are mostly run by powerful gangsters within that local area.

Current organized crime activity in Sydney's underworld

Most people know about the Gangland Killings down in Melbourne which involved elite organized crime mobsters such as Carl Williams, The Moran Family, Tony Mokbel, The Carlton Crew etc.. But does anyone here know of Sydney's equivalent? The only ones I know of are Michael Hurley, Abe Saffron, Dlasthr...
