I would say the Mexican cartels are a lot more powerful than the American Mafia(LCN) but they are at the same level as the Italian OCs like Nrandheta, Camorra etc. I heard some where the Mexcian Cartels in general are more the 3rd most powerful criminal groups in the world, i'll look for the source...

I dont know about the italians in prison and have been real curious as to how they live their life-in their .
