I have an ese friend that's married to a Pinoy (saying Pinoy these days out of respect thanks to BDL correcting me) and they been together a long time. There hood accepts it straight up and their daughter has a lot of young ese's coming around wanting to go out too. My point is that yes I don't see a problem where I live. Peace.
Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
my cousin was down with Bartlett St 13 SGV back in the mid-90's... don't think he was actually in it though
Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
I've seen a good number of pinoys in TST. Mid-City is so diverse that its not surprising to see other races in chicano gangs there. Also seen a korean from ws WF and a Thai guy from a varrio, forgot which one. And more than a few black dudes from Mid-City varrios. In fact, everyone talks about how racist chicano gangs are but if you look at Mid-City, a lot of the chicano gangs were more diverse than the black and asian gangs in the area.
Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
^^^ don't some sureno gangs get into it with each other for the simple fact that some are racist and others aren't?
Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
I haven't heard of any wars starting because of that but who knows. It's a different time now and non hispanics joining sureno gangs is getting rarer and rarer I think. But if it does happen that's pretty down. Going against the Eme to back up their homeboy.

Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
Okay, let's get this straight. If your from the street and have never been to the pinta, its VARRIO/GANG/SET before the prison politics. So the pinoys that were from Carnales, Mid City, Drifters, 18st, Friends, etc were strictly homies from their respective hoods. Not until they ended up in the joint, did they have to play the politics.
Surenos have to live side by side with the dude that killed their homie in the joint. If you think the racist thing is hard to deal with, think about that. Could you be a celly with the guy that killed your brother? He's right there and you can't touch him because if you did then your name gets on some paperwork...boom it's over for you. But once back out on the street, you'll go back on the block and do your thing right where you left off.

E,
Your right too. I feel what your saying. I was just talking generally, from being a youngster on the street coming up doing your thang, just before you end up in the system. But today is different, your right as well. NO MORE PC FOR ASIANS IN COUNTY...and it is NO JOKE.
I wanna give a shout out to the PINOY/ISLANDERS/ASIANS sitting in county today. Keep ya head up.

Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
Rancho San Pedro has a few Italians, a few half white Mexicans, and a couple of Blacks. There's very few if any Pinoys in San Pipas, and the Islanders are Samoans or Maori, they used to either join S.P. Stoners or the Crips but not the Ranch. These Pinoys you know from the Ranch are they under 25 yrs, because I know just about everyone from the Ranch and I never met any Pinoys from it ? They could be after my times though. Do you know what clique they're from or what street they claim ?S-DOOBIE wrote:I knew 2 Pinoys from Rancho San Pedro.

Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
I should correct myself in saying that "I used to" know most of the homies from the Ranch, I'm currently out of touch except for some in and out visits but no street scene for me anymore.
Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
YEA, I DONT WANT TO PUT THERE PLACAS OUT THERE, BUT THEIR REAL NAMES ARE HARD TO UNDERSTAND, THEY'RE BROTHERS. "BARUK", AND "PATU" THEY ARE FROM SC ST. AND 3RD. FIRME VATOS. THEY MOVED TO CARSON AND WERE MY NEIGHBORS. THEY'RE COOL PEOPLE. PATU IS A LITTLE OLDER AND BARUK IS AROUND 25.

Re: Filipinos in Latino barrios.
Simon RSP SC Santa Cruz Street clique are definitely vatos under 25, they claim the street but never really hang out at that street, mostly tecatos that hang around there. Now RSP 3RD ST Locos are older vatos, those I used to kick it with many times, sorry to say thought I never met your neighbors, but 3RD ST is a very large clique, many times their numbers in the weekends would rise to 100 - 150, and their ages range from early teens to veteranos in their 40's some hiiting 50 like myself, although I'm not from the Ranch.S-DOOBIE wrote:YEA, I DONT WANT TO PUT THERE PLACAS OUT THERE, BUT THEIR REAL NAMES ARE HARD TO UNDERSTAND, THEY'RE BROTHERS.
