All of the above, it progressed along with them as they got deeper into what was popping off int he beach at the time.
Started with Coterie, then came Creative Crip, then City Crip. The creative and city are still both interchangeable

funny (stupid) story from san fernando valley concerning EFCC.

this chick i went to school with moved from long beach to van nuys. both her and her brother was EFCC. i think her brother was called SPEEDY or LIL' SPEEDY from EFCC. they stayed at sunset point apartments on valerio, what use to be called valerio gardens back in the 90's.

a few MS moved in there since ABZ kicked VST out of there in 1995 and most of the cambodian ABZ got locked up mid-late 90's.

then i heard MS jacked speedy or his little brother. his necklace or some shit.

he asked for help from ABZ to help him get his stuff back.

instead of trying to get him his stuff back, ABZ just blasted 2 of the MS that lived in valerio. killed 1 and wounded 1.

the MS didn't know who blasted them, just that the shooters were asian, cops didn't know who it was but then speedy started bragging to ppl it was him that did it.

then instead of going on the run, he turned himself since he didn't do it he figured they'd let him go. i think he got life.

Yup, that's what I was saying. The name changes went hand and hand with the changing times.
In like 95-96, i think, Coterie got dropped for crip because most fools dont even know what Coterie means and the crip just came from banging in the beach cliqued up with a bunch of crip sets.
Around 2000, Creative/Creation got(still gets) backburnered a lot because that shit doesn't look or sound hard enough for some folks to be hitting up. Even still you'd hear "Creation Crip" a lot more than you'd hear "Creative Crip" for that same reason.
After 2000, EF got more black heads than even AND the fact that almost eeeeevery kid on the street was MTV'd out like a motherfucker. Trading hoodies for nascar jackets, size 40+ friscos for size 32 levis and those fucking super long ass tshirts started round that time. Anyways, fools wanted to sound more legit and started claiming city crip, most of the black heads do and the younger khmers. But the folks in their late 20s, black or not, will still rep Creation.

They always gets abbreviated in the end to Exotic Fam (EF) anyways, no matter what the last 2 letters stand for.

I remember EFCC had a presence in the southbay somewhat, centered in Gardena. Not sure if they were an official sub set claimin or just kicked it out here a lot. I remember they had a few run-ins with OG and BNG/RAC. EFCC is cliqued up with ABZ right? Trippy cuz some of those EFCCs would chill with the Kenside dubs
