I was told as a little boy "rollin" had something to do with Os lookin like wheels

All rollin gangs is Os...

Can also be sub sets that make up one larger set and who "roll" together. Rollin' 20 Bloods would be an example.

Yes, it is and was a hustling term started by LA crips back in the 70's. "Rollin" was a term initially used by pimps to describe how they "roll" money, cars, women, jewelery, etc... Rollin 60's crips coined that term first and foremost and then it took off all over LA and SD. In LA, it is now an alliance among "rollin" crip gangs 30, 40, 60, 90 and 100's. Not in SD, though.
