Long distance gang rivalries

Usually hoods beef with nearby hoods naturally...

What are some long distance or crosstown rivalries?

Playboy Gangsta Crip vs Venice Shoreline Crip (hoods are about 7 miles apart)

School Yard Crip vs Rollin 60s (about 4 miles apart) I always wondered how this beef came about, but I figured it centered around World On Wheels. It was always the only skating rink in the city, and the 60s would always come up there and I guess conflict developed with School Yards.

Any others?

The only other city worth mentiong in terms of distance is Long Beach and possibly some West L.A. blood gangs but even thats reaching. It's seen as weak to war with a far off gang rather than focus on expanding immediate territory.

Closest Black gang to VSLC is GraveYard Gangster Crips in Santa Monica. And that's still a good driving distance away. But they have always been a small hood and they are probably all but defunct now or scattered from their original hood -- changing demographics and gentrification of the area, along with police crackdowns on them in recent years.

Of course, VSLC shares their hood with V13. But that area has changed so much since the 90's that it really ain't the same. I'm not even sure if V13 even has a real presence in the Oakwood-Penmar area anymore. I heard most VSLC members don't live in Oakwood anymore and just has weekly meetings at the park.

Isn't the first time I've heard of x2's trying to do dealings with x3's out in that area and it goes bad. But in that case wouldn't we consider pretty much all crip drug dealers who do business in other cities end up dead beef?

A lot of 90's L.A. gang drug dealers died trying to expand operations into other parts of the country.

Speaking of VSLC, I remember seeing them wack out Westside Piru & Hat Gang Watts a few years back in their enemy roll call. They are nowhere near them....I don't know if something popped off at the beach that caused some beef but I also saw HGW dissing VSL too.

When was this? Never heard of that one? The whole gang or a subset? I was from 77 for a while it was common to see IFG not share beef between subsets, the less you knew the better. I tried to mind my own business to survive in those days

I remember a couple 18th Streeters got killed by a Sotel in the early 2000's over on Wilshire & Bundy. It shook everyone there because it was right near some rich areas and those people didn't expect gang violence to break out there. Wilshire is the northern border of Sotel hood. North of Wilshire is rich & yuppie neighborhoods.

I don't know where the nearest 18th Street hood is to Sotel... I'm guessing the one over by Adams & Hauser... the old Geer Gang hood that basically got taken over by 18. I don't know if Geer still posts up in that area BTW.
