Know if they spread out?

I have seen King tags in Pomona, and even one time on Crenshaw between teh 20's and 30's.

Then I saw this one in Fontana, but someone told me that one was fake.

If your talking about that time you seen it in a bathroom, man, it could have been Pasadena Latin Kings, but just cause you seen it written doesnt mean theirs a LK based in the area. It could just be someone passing by, or in town just for that day or maybe just one guy who moved to the area. but their isnt any LK gang in Fontana(or anywhere in the IE that I know of)

Yeah they were around Atlantic and Whittier, along Woods and Vancouver close to Garfield High. I remember them being aorund when I was a little kid late 70's/early 80s. Then they died out. About a year or two ago somone staring hitting up again around the same area but never seen any vatos repping it really.

It's still some Latin kings up around Alta dena but they have nothing to do with the dudes in Chicago, it's just a name. There is no Chicago gang influence in Dena

This is not true and your info is completely off. It seems like too many people on here cant face the fact that a Cali gang can be influenced from the outside. Did people forgot that BPS, one of the largest Blood hoods came from Chicago? The Pasadena Latin Kings are definitely trying to associate themselves with the Chicago Latin Kings. They may not be officially under Chicago, but they are atleast copying them. The Kings here in Cali do everything like the Kings from Chicago, from claiming the same colors to throwing up the same gangsign. The Pasadena Latin Kings had a video posted up on youtube and those dudes were throwing up the crown, which is the symbol of the Latin King Nation and they had crowns tatted on their bodies. That is straight Chicago style. Plus there are people claim Pasadena King and Fontana King all over myspace and they claim Latin King Nation and always shout out the Kings in Chicago on their pages. Some of them even be saying, "Amor De Rey", which is Chicago slang.

I read this on another website.
"PASADENA LATIN KINGS"
was formed in a street in Altadena in 1987 by two Chicanos who grew up together on Weimar St.
the names are Abel Duran & Jose Luis V. Sanchez.
I first came to the barrio in the summer of 1976, Jose's parents moved into the barrio in 1978.
he will always be my best friend, mi espalda and I his.
My name was "Trigger" and his was "Snapper".
our own brothers were the first to jump in to the click. then the rest is history.
Abel was born in Chihuahua Mexico and Jose was born in El Destrito Federal Mexico.
We aint no fucken salvadoreans so get your sgit straight.
Our lives were tough, we came from similar upbringing, "Los Terrones" were everwhwere, we got tired of seeing gangs that didint have any respect for nothing. Los de la Villa, South Siders, NorthSiders, VPR, SMP,PDL and the crips.
We created this shit in mind of belonging to a brotherhood of only those who were tired of others that just seeked violence.
I lost Snapper in 1993 some fuck head shot him in Lincoln Heights at point blank range.
may he rest in peace.
I never forgot what we started, I never left my seat to the Pasadena Latin Kings, and neither did his 2 brothers or my only brother.
Here's the original Founders
Abel Duran Jr.(Still Kicking)
Jose Luis V. Sanchez (R.I.P)
Dante Duran(Still kicking)
Marcelo Sanchez(Locked up?)
Aquileo Sanchez (R.I.P)
The 3 point crown
was ontop of the #13
we were Surenos.
Long live "Pasadena Latin Kings"
Forever rest in Peace my great friend
"Snapper" Jose Luis V Sanchez
I think the writer may have meant to write 1977 and NOT 1987 because then the story does not make sense.

when he said "came into the barrio in 1976" he probably meant when he moved into the neighborhood.

probably as a kid.

then they started the hood as teens in 1987.

makes sense move in 1976 as say a 5 or 6 yr.old.

started up a gang in 1987 at 16 or 17.

something like that.

Yeah, the 1976 did throw me off. he called it a "barrio" in 1976, but probably meant what you said...moved into the neighborhood.

I am not aware of any historical connections between the Chicago Latin Kings which have been a predominately Puerto Rican Street gang and the Pasadena Latin Kings, a Mexican-American street gang. It is certainly possible, but the use of a crown does not mean a connection. That is so generic and expected with the name Kings. There is a gang in Baldwin Park called Kings Have Arrived and they use crowns too.
