Lowell Street in North East LA

Not much has been said about Lowell Street, but they are small neighborhood in North East LA on Lowell Street beefing with El Sereno Rifa (ESR).

AKA the greenlight gang. They were actually a clique off ESR, till they got themselves in a wreck. The first time I ever heard of the green was when it was applied to them in 91, i went to continuation school with one who was murdered almost immediatly after they got caught up.

I remember this as well. Chris Blatchford from Fox 11 news, did a special on them(Lowell st.)

I heard they even "applied" to be a part of Maravilla but were declined. I know some of them, they were small but with the business. But u can only hang in the for so long with those odds stacked against you.

Never heard they wanted to be apart of maravilla.I heard that maravilla controls like 85% of east LA.and that the green lighters are quickly growing in numbers at a fast rate.in la county they seperate them from the surenos. They have there own module and members don't just consist of maravilla And Lowell st.but as well as 18st,Grape street watts,avenues,puente and the list goes on.

Only so many gangs can be green lighted. After a while, being green lit, will not mean much. If Lowell Street can sustain their existence, many other neighborhoods can too.

Thats true Alonso, but they caught the blues when it first went down, they were smoked at a rapid rate. And for some reason the cops in the are and even in South Pasadena were had a vendetta towards them, they were really coming down on them hard. Although they might have been just trying to get them off the street asap to stop the madness. And the Lowell, Locke, and The Ditch were all going at it when Lowell got greenlit, i think their intentions were to catch one of the dudes from the Ditch when they caught the green.

In 1995 Lowell Street members killed Mexican Mafia member Antonio "Tonito" Rodriguez, 29, and that increased the heat on them. Lowell is probably the only gang to murder a Mexican Mafia member without proper sanction.

but you could find it on the news on the other ones..but there was more than them..and they didn't kill a member...they killed a tax collector..a tax collector are NOT made men..

Well if you dont think made Eme members get their hands dirty doing dumb stuff, I would invite you to watch the trial of Senon Grajeda in Long Beach which I have been watching. He is a made man, along with his two brothers, and someone I have had contact with, and he is on trial for a murder of a Westside Wilmas members, that happened in the day, at a motel where his neice was staying over, and get this, over the Westside Wilmas guys (Michael Carbajal) telling Senon's neice to tell her boyfriend, a Eastside Wilmas guy, to stop wearing the red hat in their neighborhood.

I can go on about how actual made Eme men get involved in some of the most petty street beefs, but it happens. Also when Rodriguez was killed by Lowell members he was not collecting any taxes from them, he was actually posted in his car.

Rodriguez was validated by the CDC before he was released but believe what you want.

I remember when this happened on the corner of Huntington Drive and Eastern Ave. Right in the Heart of El Sereno. His body in the driver seat of his cool ass Low Rider. Also heard he had just got indicted that same day in a Rico case with 12 other Big Homies.

yeah....I heard they had like their own lil "secret" thing going on. Like all the Green lighters version of the big homies. Heard they would all take pictures together for protection from eachother. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
