VST crosses out KAM

I took this photo in 2009 on Wabash and noticed VST crossed out KAM - what is VST?

Pretty small, and they are against the freeway too, so not much geography there.

VICKYS TOWN was there north of Wabash since the 1960s, tucked in between the freeway, wabash and evergreen. They been dying out over the last decade, but some are still around. VST was definetly stronger back in the 70s and going into the 80s., they lasted there for the good part of 4 decades, but they seem to be a wanderer crowd nowdays., back in the late 1970s they had a south central spot, but i don't know exactly where, short-lived i guess., now they have a presence in uptown Whittier in South East, and they also have a chapter up north in San Jose called Varrio Sureno Town, and they have another one in Tulare (559) County. They have the cliques: Viejos, Traviesos, Peewees and Lil Riders. Both KAMS & MV's have been giving them the squeeze on the East Side.

Are you sure that's a legit chapter? I've never heard anyone say so
I heard they changed the name to varrio sur town or varrio sur trece, because it wasn't a legit chapter.

I have my own theories as to why they changed up their name



I was busted with a down ass vato from SS VST in the mid 1980s in juvinile hall

but he was the last vato I ever crossed paths with from SS VST...

and Im in East Los and also in Whitter often so I would of heard of 'em if they were still active

I just explained my theory on SJ's vst on the nor~cal thread. No denying there's Vicky's town in the north, but no one EVER claims that name in SJ any more.

Check out the Channel 11 documentary “A Portrait of a Gangster” with the San Jose VST gang. The Vickys Town name came from a burger place in LA named Vicky’s diner. VST went from Lincoln Heights to East Los and then to the Whittier Side in the early 1970s, then in the late 80s and tru the 90s the older homeboys took it to Tulare, Stockton, San Jose, and then to Las Vegas, and then it also spread out to all kinds of towns in Mexico. VST is everywhere all over the worldwide map and still going strong!

If that was meant for me, I already read it. VST came to San Jose in the late 70's. It was just that I heard they didn't have permission to start that Hood and that's why they switched the name to varrio sur town. Well they started claiming sur eventually, so I guess that was a reason for the name change.
