Gangs that were enemies but not anymore

Unread post by alexalonso » October 29th, 2012, 12:45 pm

I was thinking about how often do gangs work out their beefs, because most of the time it is over very petty issues such as a girl, or a misunderstanding. Very rarely are beef over territory or drug markets. I dont know how that narrative became popular, but the only gangs that come to mind that once had a feud and no longer are:

The Rollin 30s Crips and Rollin 40s Crips. In 1996 or 1997 they had beef, not sure over what, but it lasted about 8 years and now they are cool.

Are there more examples of this?

Cypress Aves and Aves 43rd used to beef way back in the day. Alot of the Puente clicks beefed before getting along.

Not Cypress Park, but Cypress Aves. Cypress Aves is a entirely different gang than 43rd. Now it seems they are clicks but in actuality they are two seperate gangs.

Drew st, Assasains, and 57 Chicos are all Cypress Aves clicks. They write Aves-Ce when they hit up, but everyone refers to them as Cypress Aves.

They are extremly tight knit, but there are 2 Aves gangs, Aves 43rd and Aves-Ce aka Cypress Aves. Cypress Aves is the bigger and more "connected" gang. 43rd is right off the 110 fwy around the Montecito Park area, down to the LHTS and CP border. Cypress Aves is basically all over NELA, with a strong presence in HLP off the 110 from like Ave 54 all the way to Ave 64, they have the Drew st, Assasains, and Division st clicks all over Glasell aswell.

If you look at my gang list for Northeast LA I listed the Avenues as two separate varrios. Would you agree with this AztecNinja?

Yeah.....I remember I was at the boardwalk once with a family member of mine from Venice & we came across a few Shoreline guys....they were cool with him when they saw he was from Venice.

Alonso-has there been other instances where rival hispanic/black gangs arent enemies anymore aside from V13/VSLC?

In 1997 I remember that B13 and Athens Park had bad words for each other. I dont know if it got to the level or a full fledged rivalry but today they are cool. I was told by an Athens members that B13 couldn't handle Athens and threw in the symbolic white towel.

I always thought B13 was a tagger crew turned hood. They did alot of striking in Athens and near Compton.

Venice 13 and Venice Shoreline Crips are firme now??? That’s surprising

Chicano gangsters are some resentful and prideful mothafuckas… I know, I’m one of ‘em

Someone with a Lott of pull on both sides of V13 and VSL had to make that happen

Does anyone know if they had any 187’s between ‘em?

I trip out when day one enemigos can get along after generations of feuding…

Eight Trey Gangsters and Inglewood Families

Bounty Hunter Bloods and PJ Watts Crips

I cant fathom that…

expect that is was done solely because of Rollin 60’s and Grape Streets. No other way to explain it…

I remember a while back my uncle, who was from V13, showed me a video that talked about that feud ending and how people on both sides came together to end that rivalry because they had grown up together. It was a little homemade video basically. He used to do some work in gang intervention in the Venice neighborhood & I think they kinda documented what had gone on. I'm not sure how many deaths there were...I know Culver City was also going at it w/ VSLC.

Nowadays, V13 & the Shorelines are beefing it the enemys they've mainly gone at it with throughout the years. My other relatives from V13 seem to be fine with the Shorelines...I've been with them a few times @ the beach & they keep it cool with VSLC. I just mainly hear their hatred for CXC or SM.

Basically Blackwood St vs everyone in the area. They are like Lowell. Without the Verde, I was told that it was over them buying dope from Neighborhood Crip instead of the "designated distributor". That info was from a dude from Puente13.

Blackwood St has always been the "black sheep" - pun intended  of the Puente 13 varrios

however - i've always known them to be there own seperate varrios with different origins and bounderies

in a nutshell, they are all diff gangs just like the Pacas /Pacoima varrios ...

in the calles, they push their own gang/hood 1st and foremost

its only when they get locked up, thats when they push Puente or Pacoima 1st ... then their varrio 2nd

a body on both sides and a few cats shot here & there both sides, melee brawls at the bus stop near C-High before there was even a metro blue line.

They came to us to squash it over a football game.

The truce between them been around since the 90s... I don't know the details on the murders but I'm pretty certain there were 187s between the two gangs, because this was back when the early-mid 90s when Venice/Westside was having a lot of murders, and it started with V13 & VSLC beefing. But no hoods out there got along, including SM13, CxC, Sotel 13 -- it was basically a royal rumble. They only teamed up against VSLC because eMe got them together, but that didn't last long.

I know CxC was really in a bitter war with SM13 and VSLC. There were some broad daylight shootings on busy streets between CxC & SM13.
