35th Street on Arlington

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

35th Street on Arlington

Unread post by alexalonso » January 1st, 2011, 6:32 pm

In January 2005 I shot a few pics of 35th Street along Arlington from Jefferson to Vernon. They never made any lasting presence but here is a pic from 6 years ago.

Alonso, This one is a new one for me. I spent a lot of time in this area, and I am not familliar with this clique. It was understanding that this was Harlems hood. Are you saying that this is a set of the 30's or are they an independent group?

If I remember correctly, I saw V. 35th Street in the same graffiti writing on 36th & Arlington, right down the street from this one on the same day, but I dont have a photo of that one.

Maybe it was the Rollin 30s.

Alonso, I went back and reviewed your posts on the Harlems. A brother named DB, who appears to be a member of the 30's referred to 35th street several times in his post. Accordingly, I think it would be accurate to say that photo you placed on this post is a hit by the 35th st clique of Harlems. I'm trying to reach my cousin who is from Harlem, to make sure. Once I speak to him, I will confirm.
