Panik wrote:I'm not putting down latinos here. I'm putting down the majority of their rap. To me, they are just like a lot of these southern rappers tight now like lil john and the eastside boys, TI, Chingy, bruce banner, etc. They all have the same problem. It's their lyrics. Their rhymes are overly simple and they don't talk about anything. I got a homie from the hood that's an esse. He runs with blacks, but he obviously grew up with this stuff, and every time I'm in his ride I gotta listen to it, and it's torture. They can't rap to save their life and they have no business touching a mic. They use weak rhymes, and they usually use beats that have been used before, a lot of it is just completely reusing someone else's song and just changing the words. My mom raps better than most of these guys, and that goes for the southerners too. It's not a racial thing it's a talent thing. Like I said, there have been a few mexican rappers that were actually tight, but FOR THE MOST PART, the mexican rappers out right now should never have been alolowed to make an album. Their lyrics would have been considered cheesy back in 1988. THey make Eazy E look like a Lyrical genius.

Who the hell is "bruce banner"?Do you mean david banned?

I listen to "La Etnnia," a rap/hip-hop group from Colombia, South America. I have shown a bunch of my latino friends their music and it is generally well liked among them. One of my friends who is a Cypress Hill fanatic even thinks La Etnnia is better than Cypress Hill. '

La Etnnia is mostly gangster rap/hip-hop with original beats. They don't sound anything like the gangster rap/hip-hop here in the states.

Finding them online is pretty hard so the best way to hear their beats is to find someone that has their CD's or to visit Colombia.

Yes, I realize this isn't "chicano" but I thought it might be good to add some worldly hispanic influence to this chicano area.
