2008 Dodgers

Unread post by AllhoodPublications » April 21st, 2008, 10:44 pm

3 weeks into the season what reasons are there for the Dodgers slow start?

Is it Andrew Jones, the Pitching Staff, or The New Manager?

I like this years Dodgers team, but I think the acquisition of Joe Torre doesn't help our team. We don't have the type of line up that he was accustomed to in New York. We also face a lot more tougher pitchers than his Yankees have ever faced..

The Dodgers just had a 8 game win streak snapped. They started winning when Andrew jones went down. Juan Pierre, Furcal, and Loney have been the key.

I love the acquisition of Casey Blake, he's a good player and a clutch player, Great Pick Up by the Dodger Organization.

Manny was a great pick up!

Like i said from the beginning, if Torre was going to win in Los Angeles he would have to assemble a team full of All Stars and Hall of Famers..

They are doing that.. and still in second place.

Nomar Garciaparra (HOF)
Manny Ramirez (HOF)
Russell Martin (All Star)
Casey Blake (all Star)
Andrew Jones (All Star/HOF)

Torre still doesnt know how to use his bullpen and still sits back on his hands when he's not picking his nose for bougars.

The good thing is they are in the worse division in all of baseball, only 1 1.2 games out at .500, lol I think acquiring Manny ramirez will be just enough to win the divison and give us hope in the playoffs.

Losing 2 of 3 to the lowly Giants wouldn't classify a team as the hottest team in baseball going into the post season.

Try the Angels... they rolling over everyone and clinched long ago... they are knocking on 100 wins.

i love the dodgers, but if Many doesn't hit, dodgers ain't $h!t.

Maddux blows...

lol@ A'Rod...

We came out of the weakest division in baseball this year... beating the Cubs, Brewers, Marlins, Mets, or Phillies would be big... Cubs are big time chokers but they are a good team right now...

Angles, Red Sox, and D'Rays are tough too in the AL.... this should be a good post season..

Cubs and white Sox? lol

j/k

The Dodgers have to get past the Cubs first.. then I think they can take it home.

The Angels in my opinion are the best team in baseball RIGHT NOW but the Devil Rays are much younger and dominate BOTH the Red Sox AND Angels....

I think the D'Rays and Angels will meet up... and i'm optimistic about the Dodgers but the Cubs pitchers are much better than the Dodgers and its pretty obvious that when Manny doesn't get at least 1 hit, the Dodgers quit.

^I'm still shocked about winning game 1... I knew we'd win game two pretty easy.. and we're not going back to Chicago. Its over.

I agree, the line up looks great right now. Perfect timing. BUT, you see them Cub errors, they need to knock that stadium down and change uniforms. :-p

The Phillies are starting to look scary as well... it Should be a good close series.

I don't know about the Angels anymore.. they were hanging their heads and looked very divided during the game 1 loss.. the Red Sox quietly winning winning winning without Manny Ramirez...

I still like Rays vs Dodgers

Although I am a die hard Dodger Fan the Dodgers have exceeded my expectations.. they beat some pretty good pitchers in route to sweeping the Cubs by taking 2 of 2 in Chicago... wow.. nothing like the lakers. :-P

D'Rays looking good in the AL..

Fuck yeah! I'm riding with the Dodgers since my team is out of it. You take our manager and make the playoffs. We get a new manager and don't make them for the first time in 14 years..... very interesting.

If we think we are going to pitch to them and get them out we'll be in big trouble.

Jimmy Rollins is a tough one, we have to keep him off the bases.

Jason Worth- Ex Dodger, a pretty good player offensively and defensively..

I think the dodger Pitching is much better than the philles with the exception of Hamels.

Dodgers are electric right now, they look real good.. Manny Ramirez is the key. a lot of good young talent on the Dodgers.. a lot of color out there too.. makes for good speed.

The Phillies are aggressive butI don''t think they have the speed that the dodgers have..

We will beat the Phillies maybe in 6 games.

From a Ratings or Conspiracy standpoint...

You have to 'know' it will be the Dodgers and Red sox...

It has all the makings of the NBA Finals...

Paul Pierce- Manny Ramirez...

Boston- L.A.

Hall of Fame Coach/Manager Joe Torre- Phil Jackson..

Two big Markets...

Ratings would be good.. the story good.. action good..

Nomar Garciaparra ex Red Sox Manny Ex Red Sox, Joe Torre- hated by Sox Fans..

No one wants to see the Phillies vs Rays on National TV- Prime Time for a 7 game series.. not even a die hard baseball fan!

Philadelphia leads series 2-0

Boston leads series 1-0

I hope Tampa finds a way to pull through cuz if the Phillies win id rather face the Rays.
Boston has great pitching and a lot of WS experience.
