Yo I had a feeling about that shit!
Cause aside from Penn not really having the same work ethic as St. Pierre he's a better natural fighter than that.
You know that fucker is playing dirty!

Yep, the vaseline that got wiped off immediately had everything to do with Penn being dominated.

those wipes couldn't of gotten all of it off though.Azure9920 wrote:Yep, the vaseline that got wiped off immediately had everything to do with Penn being dominated.
that guy was trying to wipe of excess water so im sure he wasnt really applying pressure to get it off since water comes of easily from the skin.
but have you ever tried to get Vaseline off of your skin?
it leaves a little coating if done with a towel and 1 or 2 strokes.

It leaves a little on, but not enough to make it slip like Penns feet did, what part of the match was that at in the video? I bet it was quite a ways into it, sweat is slippery as well.$outhPhillypuppet wrote:those wipes couldn't of gotten all of it off though.Azure9920 wrote:Yep, the vaseline that got wiped off immediately had everything to do with Penn being dominated.

As for the recent fight, it's not like the vaseline mattered, Penn got destroyed on his feet, it didn't even look like GSP was going all out either. Face it, Penn can't compete with one of the best P4P fighters in the world...I don't see why all his fans are trying to make excuses and cover up his losses, GSP is a better fighter...very few at LHW or WW can compete with him.

Really?how do you know?Azure9920 wrote:It leaves a little on, but not enough to make it slip like Penns feet did
Are you a world class jujitsu practitioner that would know?
these are world class athletes that train extra hard.
Even the slightest advantage no matter how little can change a match in just about any sport on that level of competition.
Plus It doesnt matter if its a little or a lot.
Vaseline on the body is illegal and not allowed.
A little bit of pine tar or sandpaper in baseball does a lot for a pitcher.
a little extra step does a lot in basketball.
a little bit of offensive holding can change a football game.
there is a lot of little things in sports that dont really seem like much that can completely change the outcome of an event.
It went to the ground in the second round almost exactly 1 minute into the round give or take 1 or 2 seconds.Azure9920 wrote:, what part of the match was that at in the video? I bet it was quite a ways into it, sweat is slippery as well.
GSP is a conditioning freak that JUST got out of his corner from the 1minute rest period.
Add in the fact that the 1st round was alot of leaning and Penn resting against the gate I think its hard to believe that GSP got THAT slippery in 1 minute of action.
Did he sweat?yes
but there is no way that he is sweating crisco alowing BJ's feet to just fall from his shoulders.
GSP won the first round due to his control of the fight with his wrestling.Azure9920 wrote:As for the recent fight, it's not like the vaseline mattered, Penn got destroyed on his feet, it didn't even look like GSP was going all out either.
In this fight up until he(penn) got taken down at 4:00 in the second round the striking was pretty much even with both landing shots.
anything after that is null and void because of the vaseline on the body of GSP
So pointing out that one fighter had an illegal substance on his body is an excuse?Azure9920 wrote:Face it, Penn can't compete with one of the best P4P fighters in the world...I don't see why all his fans are trying to make excuses and cover up his losses,
I agree.GSP is still in his prime and BJ is fading.Azure9920 wrote:GSP is a better fighter...
I had this fight as 50/50 because i like both of them.
but i was banking on Gsp taking him down(which was inevitable) and Penn working his juijitsu.
he is dominating the welterweight division but there is no way he is going to 205 and dominating like he is now.Azure9920 wrote:very few at LHW or WW can compete with him.

South Philly you should know better. These guys get more vaseline on their bodies during clinches and on the ground from faces rubbing on each others hands, chest, legs, whatever, then Phil Nurse may or may not have accidently put on GSP. No one is arguing the other side of the coin. What if very little to no vaseline got on GSP? Was he not at a DISADVANTAGE then having to be wiped down between rounds and getting rid of his natural sweat? Where as BJ was still wet from his own sweat?
Couple quick facts:
BJ has NEVER submitted anyone from his own guard, GSP has NEVER been submitted by someone elses guard. If BJ thought he'd do any sort of damage from his own guard on GSP then he lost the fight a long time ago.

Re: George cheated in the Penn fight. You a bitch ass youngbol
but seriuosly tho.
i know that the fighters do get Vaseline on there body during clinching and all that.
But that's usually accidental and its one of those things that just happen in a fight.
Were as phil nurse looked like he purposely put vaseline on GSP's body.
Like is a fighter gets hit in the groin with a kick that was supposed to hit the knee/inner thigh but hits the grion instead cuz a guy stepped inside.
I don't think that's cheating because its accidental.
but if a fighter gets hit in the groin that looks like it was clearly a shot to the nuts it is cheating to me.
like both fighters get checked by a cutman appointed to them by the UFC.
then they get time with there trainers and when the time ends they stand up and get wiped down by the towel guy.

i thought both fighters get wiped down during the 1 minute intermission.EmperorPenguin wrote:Was he not at a DISADVANTAGE then having to be wiped down between rounds and getting rid of his natural sweat?

BJ Penn is from my hometown. I see him around town constantly. Laid back, low-profile cat...
BUT with that being said, BJ needs to get his butt to the mainland and hire real trainers...
It is well known he is very talented but does not exploit that talent...
GSP on the other hand is a beast!! Yea he may have cheated somewhat but I think he was too strong and too fast for "The Prodigy"...
Hate to say it but BJ needs to surround himself w/ real trainers that are going to push him and test him, he instead hires his family to train him b/c he feels the need to be close to his culture. Hawaii is a laid back culture, especially the outter islands. Unfortunately this live "aloha" has a bearing on BJs training...
