Sugar Ray Robinson Vs Mohammad ali
This is a question for those who watch alot of boxing.
lets say Sugar ray was in Ali's Weight class. do you thnk his power full punch would knock out ali or would ali's dancing style, hard chin and super speed be too much for robinson.

I dont recall anyone being able to knock out Ali, he was probably one of the smartest heavyweights ever.

do you think Sugar Rays punch was the direct cause of Jimmy Doyle's death? was his punch that strong?

That's not a "knock-out" it was a "knock down" - very different. Again, no fighter was ever able to knock out Ali. That is a testament to a fighter's resiliency. The greatest fighters eventually get knocked out, but very few have an entire career where that never happens.PrinceTheReal wrote:ALi got knocked out by Chuck Wepner but came back and won the match. thats the only one i can recall for nowalexalonso wrote:PrinceTheReal wrote:This is a question for those who watch alot of boxing.

If Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Earnie shavers, Ken Norton, and many other powerful heavyweights couldn't do it, I doubt if Ray Robinson could have. Sugar Ray Robinson had good power for his size but he threw combinations and broke you down with an accumulation of punches. He would not have beaten Ali.

Good point, even Tyson said when he was in his prime that he would not have been able to get to Ali when he was on the Arsenio Hall show with Ali back in 89 or 90.Quepolo3 wrote:If Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Earnie shavers, Ken Norton, and many other powerful heavyweights couldn't do it, I doubt if Ray Robinson could have.
