Re: 80's funk
Never heard those two songs before. the first singer vocals reminds me a bit of Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass ,) cool song.
Like these type laid-back funk type songs, I remember where Rock Steady hit in '87 The Whispers ... such a jam, lol.
The Whispers *Keep On Lovin' Me*

Digging that Danger zone tune, and the DJ Quik original sample source. any idea where to find this instrumental from Colors? one of the funkiest beats around but very hard to find.

I discovered this on the Michael Baisden show about two years ago and like it just as much as their other well-known hits if not better.~J~ wrote: The Whispers *Keep On Lovin' Me*

Re: 80's funk
@Everybody- What do you youngsters know about this? This is what I grew up on. In my oppinion, when music was music. We went to the party and got it started. You could go and kick it, and there were no shootings, an occasional fist fight, but good fun. You were almost guarenteed to get some womb at the end of the night. The Good ol' days.
Let me put all my young homies on here on some 80's game:
Guarenteed mellow out the party song
Had to put on the Commodores, they are my home town group
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPQz5nCn158
Get everybody on the floor dancing cut!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqXaJqqp2SI
And the classic roll with your honey jam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL0M4HtL ... re=related
last old school classic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkOUCOIk ... re=related
Just a little gold for the comrades!

Re: 80's funk
That Commodores and SOS jams were a bit before my time but were definitely getting radio time thorough out the 80's. love the Candy song. I think it hit in 86 or maybe '87.
No one over 30 can forget this jam! also one of the last old school classics, one of my favorites!

@ "J"- That's right playa, still got it. After looking at the selections you and Femun put on here, I must bestow the title of "Old School" to you guys. I must admit, yall posted some classics. That music is timeless, and that's why I make my kids listen to it.
