I got. It's a nice album and their lyrics are still on the point, but just too many half-ass beats on that. Beats on RBG are way more softer than in the Lets Get Free. That was a big disappointment. I'd give this RBG album 7 out of 10.

i agree with all yall, but you forgot NWA.
They were considered a big threat at that time by the government.....remember Eazy E eating dinner with the president?
But what about active rap groups nowadays.
Where have they gone.... All these cats are only beefing over this and that money/gold chain whatever, grab their nuts and think that they are great rappers.
I think theres more to rap than just money and big cars.

Yea, I strongly recommend to get that Lets Get Free. That's a great record.

Does DP get a lot of love out in Finland? Well, yes and no. It's like that DP is pretty "pro-black" group, so many (white) people don't feel comfortable at listening it, but then again many people here don't take their lyrics that personally. I'm one of those. When DP is talking about white people doing this and that, I understand that they're speaking about "white America" and that they have a good reason to do that. And I like their revolitionary message, regardless if it's pro-black or not. In general I'd say that the people who have been listening to rap for more than 10 years are giving love to DP because of their beats, flows, and most of all their uncommercial and raw style, but younger ones are more into that MTV style of rap and don't dig DP.

Dead Prez belongs there. Talib Kweli spits some politically relevant sh-t. So does Mos Def, Common, and Kanye.

Immortal Technique brings it for real. That track Bin Laden is crazy. The whole revolutionary 1 & 2.

But, Paris....that boy. His website covers it all. He got documentaries about the blood diamonds in Sierra Leon. He's branched out beyond the Panthers.

but do you think that contemporary hip hop is more commercial and less political? which good political rap groups are out there today....do rappers care about politics?
What would happen if many of them speak on politics issues....
