Yeah, that must have been a rude awakening for an egomaniac like Gotti. Stuck in a midwest prison without his Italian goombah cronies around definitely put Gotti at a disadvantage!

They didn't. The guy that beat up Gotti, Walter Johnson, was paroled before the Aryan Brotherhood could get to him. And as it turned out, it would have been better if the Aryan's would have been able to get him. After being paroled, Walter Johnson got into an altercation with a transit authority police officer and ended up taking his gun from him and shooting him and killing him. Obviously, this guy Johnson was no boy scout! He's now back in prison serving a life sentence! As to whether or not the Gotti/Aryan contract is still valid, I don't know.

I saw a documentary about AB the other day and they said that AB hired the black guy to beat up Gotti....because Gotti stopped paying AB protection money...so AB set him up so they could get more money outta him...

Yea I saw that documentary about the AB on Gangland (history channel). They said that when Gotti first hit prison he was paying the AB for protection but when Gotti's soldiers started coming to prison he thought he had enough protection and stopped paying. At that point they believe the AB got someone from the BGF (I believe that's what the show said, not the DC Blacks whom they were hated rivals) to attack Gotti. Gotti then got back with the AB and started paying them again and also wanted the guy whacked. Gotti ended up dying of throat cancer before the hit could go through but the show theorizes that the AB did a classic bait and switch which I tend to believe, this is a very powerful prison gang and it's hard to believe they couldn't whack someone they truly wanted to.
