West Coast Jailhouse Rock?

Unread post by Motion » March 8th, 2014, 10:33 pm

Did any west coast people develope any particular fighting tactics on the streets or in jail?

The term jailhouse rock is an umbrella term for fighting tactics developed by people in jails and on the streets. One known style of this is "52 Blocks" developed by NY area inmates and street fighters. 52 blocks was well known among NYC street gangs of the 60's and 70's.

Two good vids on 52. Both from a few years back but still explain and demonstrate 52 blocks fairly well.

Looks like some choreographed nonsense to me. They might have a few useful blocks in there but that's about it. Better to slip and duck, rather than block.

This fighting style borrowed from many other styles like wing chun and boxing......Like any fighting style it depends on the skill of the individual to make it work......

Spoken like a true hardass wannabe. Look, listen up, there is a reason the Polaks dominate all the ultra scenes in europe and in general wipe everyones ass alla cross the continent and world in fighting. Experience, getting in a lot of fights, and training. Polaks in general since childhood or diapers throw stones at each other, fight, and even as I grew up we would ride biyccles into one another and pretend to be bruce lee by making sticks as weapons. We Polaks were trained since birth to fight. It doesnt come from getting some jail tatoos or doing dope.
