That Rosie Perez movie didn't down play the African influence in PR. She was pretty open about all the different racial elements in the PR population. She even mentioned smaller influencs like Irish.

Truth be told! There are Puerto Ricans more connected to the ancestors than their counterparts here in the US. Just check out the Reynaldo Hernandez painting "Black Imperial Egypt, The Old Kingdom"

I was at a house party and this Puerto Rican guy from the Bronx was there. He was drunk as hell and was trying to start fights with everyone.

Then more and more blacks showed up to the party and he left because he said "I didnt know this was a black party."
