who was treated worse

Unread post by alexalonso » December 20th, 2009, 4:31 am

Who was treated worse during slavery, the light skinned mullato or the dark skinned slave?

I was reading that although, white society looked at light skinned slaves as more intelligent and easier to deal with, mullato women were the target of many rapes by whites.

The White people who have to hear about how their 7th cousin 9th removed once owned a slave for a week, and now owes 2 million dollars to the descendant of that slave are treated much worse than either of them.

Come now, the KKK had no knowledge of genetics or anthropology. At least give my posts some credit.

then perhaps the light skinned black slave may have been treated better. ALso I think that some light skinned blacks during slavery may have been resented more by the white woman because they knew they were the result of their white husbands having sex with black slaves.

It depends, remember the slave master would often defile and force himself on female slaves so he can produce more slaves to work on the field, even knowing they were his children or offspring doesn't mean that they were treated better cause they were kept out there in the field to toil and work. Often times it might of been even more dangerous for the slave because what if the slave masters wife found out he raped a coon girl , thus the bastard slave carried a dark secret with him.

In my oppinion, there is no better or worse. Slavery is Slavery. They all faced horrific types of abuse for a plethora reasons, but if you look at it as a whole, it balances it out.
