Money question

I know almost nothing about my local gang population in Newark, NJ, other than when I see these guys hanging out on the corner across the street from my college.
It seems to be mainly Crip from what I can tell.,

My question is. how much money can an average lower level gang member expect to make monthly, or yearly. I suspect that it would be substantial considering the dire risks involved. East Coast or West Coast doesn't matter.

I didn't see any areas in the forum for east coast questions or I would have posted there. Thanks.

That's a good question. I have no idea what they're doing other than just standing around.

We'll just assume that they're involved in various criminal activities like stealing an occasional car, selling coke and or heroin, mugging, burglary etc. I doubt they're higher echelon types who deal with large quantities or are heads of larger operations being that they just mill around on the same corner day after day. There always seems to be an assortment of higher end cars around where they hang out which is in front of government housing. This is pretty much what piqued my interest.

If I wasn't concerned about getting killed, or at least severely fucked up, I'd ask them myself.

Well this is non-gang related but it still somewhat relates to your question. I got a cousin down in Germany who is a STRICTLY MARIJUANA DEALER- HE IS NOT A GANG-MEMBER. Dude is loaded with paper. He makes at least $200 bucks a day, which would be around 150Euros. He told me one year he made $300,000, this is strictly dealing, no stealing from others. So I can imagine a serious gang-member who sells weed,crack-cocaine, meth, heroin etc...... plus robs from other rivals. dude could be making huge money.
