Does anyone bang with those hairnets on their head?

Unread post by polysaturated » September 20th, 2004, 11:44 pm

I see them alot in movies, the Eses got that hair net shit going on, I think they look funky as hell, is there any reason why they bang with those? I always thought it was bc they want to keep their hair in check when they scuffle with some fools. maybe that stuff is played out in the states I dont know bc I see them in alot of old school gang movies but not now.

Yeah I think that died out when I was in jr high and just starting highschool. Esses all usesd to love to have some hair. Pompador type shi-, or slicked back. Some of 'em rocked hairnets too. But somewhere there in the late 80's they all shaved their heads. Now it's rare to even see an esse with hair, at least not a gang banger. Maybe some pretty boys got fades, and wabs still got duck tails. LOL

On the real, I got lazy too, plus I'm thinnin' up there, just shaavve it.
There is a picture on the C14 Clanton 14 site which has these Cholos in it, and they have their hair combed back but not short, this was the norm and style at the end of the mid-to-late 70's before it went to the short slick back style that required the hair nets to frame your hair growth.

I used to wear one......it kept hair in place......I know some guys who were into breakdancing said it started out as a way to not get their hair messed up while doing it......so maybe thats the origin, I don't know..... we just did it because it was something to do, with all the crap in our hair we didn't really need them to keep hair in place.....they looked good though....
