Localism in the Surfing World

I know I might get clowned for this, but some of those surfers in some areas patrol their areas like a gang. Some of em will fuck you up just for being an outsider coming to try and surf their local spot. They'll tag on a wall "locals only"

This is definitely true... more so in LA county though than in SD county though... down here they will generally just tell you to leave if you are unaware that these waves "belong to them". Haven't been approached aggressively down here but certainly have had some encounters in Huntington beach area...

Even surfers be on people's heads? That's wild.

This has been going on for years. At some beaches in OC, they'll throw rocks at outsiders. What's hilarious is that they call it "localism". lol. What is that? Black kids do it, it's called gang banging, or "urban terrorism". Those white surfer guys jump an outsider, it's "localism". Almost hints as if its the victim's fault for daring to surf at their beach.
