Jeremy’s sexy mug shot has already generated a devoted female following and a whole new slew of hilarious memes. So just who IS the man behind the mug shot? Well, it turns out that, in addition to being arrested on felony weapons charges on June 18, Jeremy is also reportedly a member of the infamous Crips gang. And his teardrop tattoo? It’s a notorious symbol intended to honor a ‘gang killing!’
We’re sorry to disappoint you, ladies, but although Jeremy Meeks‘ piercing blue eyes and chiseled jawline may be appealing, his rap sheet definitely is NOT! It might literally be a mile long, and it includes grand theft, resisting arrest, and faking his identity by posing as his brother, among other not-so-minor offenses. Yikes!
Jeremy Meeks: Crips Member? — Man Behind The Mug Shot Is In Infamous Gang
Almost every woman on earth has gone through a bad boy phase, but this is a little extreme! Jeremy may be a handsome, married father of one but he’s still trouble with a capital T — here’s why.
Jeremy has spent the last decade in and out of courtrooms, and he served two years in prison for grand theft in 2002. His multiple tattoos — including the teardrop beneath his eye and the word “Crip” on his arm (that’s an obvious one) — link him to the notoriously dangerous Crips gang. Plus, in a statement released on June 20, the Stockton police revealed that Jeremy was a part of the Northside Gangster Crips.
The police were actually on their way to search someone else’s house, with a search warrant, when they encountered Jeremy driving away from the home on June 18, according to the UK’s Daily Mail. After searching his car, police found a 9mm round of ammunition and a small stash of “what is believed to be” marijuana in his passenger compartment. Cops also discovered an unregistered, loaded Springfield Armory .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun in Jeremy’s trunk.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Jeremy’s offenses. In 2005, he was charged with identity theft in the second degree for impersonating his brother, Emery Meeks, pictured above, in Spokane County, Washington. He was also simultaneously charged with resisting arrest, although that charge was later dismissed. The list goes on, and you can find out about all of Jeremy’s run-ins with the law here.
Jeremy Meeks Promises: ‘I’m Not Some Kingpin’
Jeremy just did a new interview with USA Today from jail, telling the cameras: “I just want them to know that this is really not me; I’m not some kingpin.”
He claims to be finished with gang life, but in addition to being arrested on five weapons charges and one gang charge on June 18, Jeremy was also charged with a misdemeanor for resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer. It certainly doesn’t sound like he’s turned over that new leaf just yet!
