yeah in rio is real gangsta shit but there is corrupt everything including police...i also watched movie city of god and its very good movie...yeah it is 17.000 murders per year but you must know that in rio the police is corrupted and they dont give a f--k about gangs...or killing each others.

IV'E SEEN CITY OF GOD MAN BRAZIL CRAZY BUT HAVE YOU SEEN THE FILM ABOUT A PRISON IN SAO PAULO IT'S A FILM ABOUT THE PRISON LIFE IN BRAZIL .IT MAKES ME WONDER MAN THERE ARE ALOT PEOPLE DYING IN BRAZIL IT'S SAD TO SEE THIS HAPPENING.

Im from Brasil, and the 2 biggest gangs are in Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo, but now they are expanding north and south, you can find gangs in Parana now too


The biggest gangs are called Comando Vermelho, e Comando Amarelo, which means Red command, and Yellow command

If you are worried about it just stay away from the Favelas, and stay around Copacabana, Ipanema, and the other tourist sections, and you'll be ok. Lapa is great, if you like to party.

the film you was talking about in the jail in brasil is called carandiru and is the absolute business, beg borrow or steal as with city of god, also to the geezer earlier on who said no matter how good you speak spanish you still need to read the subtitles on city of god, thats cause in brasil they speak portugese :roll:
