Cool movie.
Takes place in Juvenile detention center. No gangs, but a good movie.
Sean Penn is a bad ass in this movie.

This is a great movie. And yeah there were serious gang undertones in the film. Chicago at the time was undergoing gang wars between Insane Popes, Royals(Sean Penns gang), Gaylords etc.. and LK's, Cobras, Two-Sixers etc..Most of the dudes that landed in joint in the 70"s started the Northsiders gang that is now deep in most max yards in Illinois.

Good film filled with great performances from Sean Penn, Esai Morales, Eric Guri and Clancy Brown.

The script was written by Chicago-based writer Richard Di Lello, who went on to write the first draft of Colors (set in Southside Chicago and dealing with drug trafficking) before it was revised by Michael Schiffer.

To this day, Sean Penn considers Bad Boys as one of his favourites films.

During the late 1980s, this movie would come on Cable alot, and I must have watched it 20 to 30 times. I loved it when I was you. Would love to see it today and see if I enjoy it the same way i did back then.

1. The jewish boy was funny with his ability to fix items and eventually making a bomb.
2. The black dude Tweety looked like a real thug
3. The tall white boy was your typical school yard bully
4. Esai Morales was the new tough kid on the block that Sean Penn eventually had to deal with.
5. And Sean Penn was cold with the sodas in the pillow case.

This is all off my memory of watching the movie over 20 years ago. Aint seen it since.

This was a really good movie. For back then, it was pretty graphic. Actually, it was being replayed on HBO, flix or one of those movie channels fairly recently. You may want to check Movies on demand on some of those movie channels and see if its still on there.
