Simon City Royals in Milwaukee

Unread post by Silencioso » January 9th, 2010, 2:39 pm

16 Simon City Royal's were named in an indictment that needs its own guidebook for the players. I love that gang name "Simon City Royal's." That's classy.

Among those named in the complaint:

Anthony Lubrano, a.k.a. "Prince Shadow." Lubrano, 43, is an inmate at the state prison in Boscobel. He is, according to the complaint, the "Ranking Prince of Wisconsin," or head of the gang.

Daniel Schleicher, a.k.a. "Prince Spanky," "Spanky Gambino" and "Lil Shadow." Schleicher, 30, is an inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution. The complaint calls him the "Regional Prince of Wisconsin," or second in command.

Schleicher's wife, Angela, a.k.a. "Lady 18." Angela Schleicher, 27, of Franklin, is portrayed as the gang's treasurer. Her job, according to the complaint, was to keep the ledger, collect monthly dues and control "the box," from which members could borrow money for guns, drugs and personal use.

RCI guard allegedly joined street gang
A prison guard allegedly recruited into a gang by an inmate faces criminal charges related to the gang's activities.

The Racine Correctional Institution officer who allegedly joined the Simon City Royals street gang is one of 16 people who will face Milwaukee County charges, according to court documents released this week.

John Champion, 39, of Oak Creek, reportedly told law enforcement that he met a member of the Simon City Royals in the spring of 2005, while he was a guard at RCI. The inmate gave him the phone number for an alleged gang member who was not incarcerated.

Within months, Champion said he was going to gang meetings and eventually invited to participate in the meetings, learn the gang's prayers and become a member.

According to the complaint, Champion snuck pornography, alcohol, tobacco and marijuana into RCI and gave them to Anthony Lubrano, 43, who was allegedly running the Simon City Royals from inside the Sturtevant prison.

Champion was allegedly making money taking materials into the prison for members of the Simon City Royals and Vice Lords. A confidential informant said that Champion's smuggled contraband allowed members of the Simon City Royals to earn positions of authority and respect among prisoners.

Another informant said Champion wanted to join the gang because of its influence in the prison system.

The Simon City Royals smuggled about $30,000 in contraband into the prison, according to an RCI investigation.

The complaint accuses defendants of participating in an April 2002 shooting in West Allis, allegedly to retaliate against another gang that had crossed the Simon City Royals; a June 2003 beating in Wauwatosa, where members allegedly attacked a man who was trying to leave the gang; a March 2005 armed robbery of a Milwaukee bar; a spring 2006 beating of a man who was kicked out of the gang because he owed money; an August 2006 beating of a man who allegedly snitched on other gang members and a plotted murder of a gang member who was reportedly trying to start his own chapter.

They also allegedly had parts in the distribution and sale of marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs and put money into the prison canteens of people convicted of crimes committed for the gang.

The 16 people charged in connection with gang activity are as follows:

- Anthony Lubrano, 43, is charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit the offense of aggravated battery, loansharking.

- Daniel Schleicher, 30, is charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit the offense of delivering marijuana, conspiracy to commit the offense of aggravated battery, loansharking, conspiracy to commit the offense of delivering articles to inmates.
