Chicago is off the hook - over 500 murders in 2012
Chicago, IL ended in 2012 with 513 homicides, a 15 percent increase from 448 homicides in 2011. That is 65 more homicides in one year. That is out of control. Also Chicago population is only 2.7 million compared to Los Angeles with 3.8 / 3.9 population and had about 300 homicides.

I think a few months ago it was like 47 people shot and 9 dead in a weekend or something like that
