It can go dormit, like cancer, like remission. That means it's still there, just don't feed it. it's a disease like dieabetes. As long as you watch what you eat, and take your insilin, you'll be o.k. If you stay away from drugs, and take the proper steps, you should be fine.

No. Once you have an addiction you will always have that addiction. It takes hard work and the desire to not use again. It is a disease in remission.

you can help people, but they have to want your help, but you can still see if they'll take your help.

People do recover from drug addiction, but addictive personalities are lifetime. It's all about knowing your weakness and being true to yourself. Some addicts may kick drug abuse only to start new addictions that are just as bad such as smoking, drinking, internet porn of the illegal kind.

Dealing with addictions is life long work. Some people need medications such as methadone or benzo's to help with the craving's and increased anxiousness from not using. Some form of therapy or support group could help as well such as AA, NA, or SA. Someone alway's have a story worst than yours.

Really bad drug addictions can tear up families, cause loss of property, or worst.......be lethal.

My brother was a heroin addie. By the time we managed to get him into rehab, he was pretty far gone. They tried six different ways to get him straight. None of them worked. Finally, they made him go cold turkey. He was fine the first day...second day was a nightmare. He started shaking and had goosebumps all over him for what seemed like forever. They had to strap him down on a bed so he didnt hurt himself. I was only 18, but i think my memory of my brother shaking nonstop and completely freakin out; it will haunt me forever. We walked in to visit him third day of cold turkey, and he was hooked up to life-support. We never got a call to let us know. We walked in there, and he's still shaking; he couldnt seem to sweat it out, no matter how hard he tried. I thought he was going to die.
Its been two years now, and I can tell when he starts thinking about it. Its like he's still fighting himself to get away from it, but it wont stop. He starts to sweat and his eyes go blank. You can talk to him at this time but he isnt going to reply. It's like he goes off radar; there, but not there, you know? He hasnt been able to hide the trembling, either. two years and its still a part of his life.
No, I don't think you ever get over a drug addiction. It comes back, slowly, and then faster, until all you can do is think about it, or think through it.

I truly don't beleive that "anyone" can "fully" recover from "addiction"

hard habits >> are hard to break . . . especially if you keep yourself
around!

You can kick one out but in comes another . . . lesser of two evils!

The whole damn planet seems to be hooked on something v v v v

"legal or illegal" >> pass it up holmes >> don't hug it up!

Just to keep things in perspective >> STAY ON TOPIC! >> NO PORN!

DROGAS is what we're talking about >> NOT "DEVIATED KINKY SH*T!

~" NO, I DON'T BELEIVE THAT AN ADDICT EVER EVER FULLY KICKS IT "~

Well, my mom decided to do heroine and crack; while she was pregnant w/me, and I suffer for her actions BADLY. I shake, yes, and was on methadone for a while, and a whole lot of other BS. plus i'm not oh, how do I word this, umm, I do crazy stuff. Well, look at my article in the conspiriacy theory. That all came from my head!! at age 17 I was in rehad. I wonder if this has anything to do with my unborn addiction.
What's pretty cool tho is I have mild cebral palsey in my leg, but on my right side, not my left side, which is probably why i'm left handed. Thank god my face is goood lookin!!!!! Well, actually I wasn't born. Haa, I was three months premature.
