Blagoevgrad. The District Court in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, sentenced a Macedonian citizen to one year in prison for attempting to enter Bulgaria without previously obtained visa, Macedonian Makfax informed.
The imprisoned Macedonian - identified as Tose Georgievski (21) from Stip - applied and was admitted at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Sofia.
He submitted the necessary documents for exiting the country, however, seeking to appear at the Bulgarian Faculty within the deadlines for enrollment, he didn't wait for approval from competent authorities, his lawyer Dimitrina Haramliska told local media.
According to the court, Georgievski entered illegally into Bulgaria from Macedonia on two occasions.
Prior to the Blagoevgrad court's sentence, a judge of court in Petric had annulled the charges against Georgievski, explaining that the case had minor significance. However, the Blagoevgrad Prosecution Office appealed the verdict, which was followed by the imprisonment verdict.
