Do ya think floyd mayweather will be rememberd as 1 of the best boxxers ever or do ya think cuzz he boxxes with safty first he will be rememberd as a good boxxer but not one of the best???

No, No, No and No. Granted he has great movement, hand speed and defense. But his fights are so boring. He has always been a one punch fighter and never stays in the pocket long enough to throw combos of any significance. His whole style is throw a punch and move out of the way. Sugar Ray Leonard was a great boxer with incredible lateral movement but he also put on entertaining fights because he would let his hangs go (remember those great Leonard vs Duran, Hagler vs Leaonard fights)? I have never seen Mayweather in an entertaining fight with the exception of the Corrales fight.

I also feel that Mayweather is not an undefeated fighter. Jose Luis Castillo should have got the obvious unanamious decision in their first fight (Promoter Bob Arum immediately set up a rematch for this reason) and to a lesser degree you could have argued the same case for De La Hoya.

But nevertheless, it was a good match yesterday against Hatton. I don't like Mayweather's personality, but his boxing is great. And it was funny to watch how only 4000 english fans put 20 000 american fans into a shame in case of singing and supporting. Whenever those 4000 started to sing, you couldn't hear anything else at all.

Mayweather was far to good for hatton.Hatton was too one dimentional as a fighter to trouble someone with floyds skills.

In their 2nd fight, Hearns, who is one of my all-time favorites, never knocked Leonard down. That kept him from winning. But anybody who watched that fight knows Tommy whooped him..

We all know Floyd was The Business in ring but he didn't have that out of ring popularity like Ali had so no matter what he does he'll never be considered best ever.

i rmember i use to stay up from like 1 am to 7 am waitin on mike tysons match ....n boom first , second round shit is over...stayed up 6 hours for 3 minutes

I think Floyd Mayweather is a good fighter, but he does not excite the viewer. His fight against Ricky Hatton was probably his best performance. But he is one of the most defensive fighter out, which means boring.

Mayweather is one of the most skilled fighters of all time. But you wont be considered great without great competition and he has none.

I think that, in terms of classic boxing skill, meaning hit and not be hit, Floyd is probably the best of all time. I think the most dominant fighter in his prime was Roy Jones, but Roy was unconventional, so as his reflexes slowed he started getting tagged. But to me, he accomplished the greatest feat in boxing history; he started his career fighting at 154 lbs and then won every championship up to heavyweight. That means he beat John Ruiz, who fought most of his career at around 240 pounds, 86 pounds more than Roy at the start of his career.

When you compare that with what Sugar Ray Robinson did, he started his careet at 147 and got major props for ALMOST winning the 175 pound championship from Joey Maxim. That's only a 28 pound difference from where he started his career.

Germany has got some great boxers right now ! Felix Sturm and Arthur Abraham !
Both of them are great fighters !
