Health and Fitness in the hood

I notice that alot of gang members are cut and fit. The last 3 interviews i did with SG withthese gang members gone rappers have led me to see that at least the two of them were already cut and fit. The other one, was over weight but said he was starting to workout and had already lost some weight.

Is this normal for a gang member to be fit, working out and lifting weights? Do they also run and eat healthy, too?

I know gang members who go to jail workout and get buffed up in jail, but do they also have a healthy diet? Smoking leads to craving and munchies. Drinking leads leads to beer guts. So, how does a gang member stay in shape?

The two gang members gone rapper are probably doing it so they can be eye candies for their audience. Whatever the reason, they were on point with their physique. :)

Whats your thought on the topic? Do you workout? Stay fit, and eat healthy too?

To be very honest with you

the gang members that are not heavy into drugs… which most are

But the ones that are not… yes – there usually into working out or trying to looking good / hard /chingon / threatening

Especially if you’re an active youngster, you either got to be a mean, lean fighting machine

or your always packing a cuete





Now on to diet:

I speak from my perspective only – Mexicans gang members usually don’t eat healthy… we eat like Mexicans!

Carnitas, carne asada, chicharrones, pozole, tamales, mariscos, all of the fried foods we grew up on … not healthy, but fuckn’ delicious to the taste buds :P




It wasn’t till I hit 30s that I started to eat healthier and I got back into the gym - apart from doing time

Other than that … when I was locked up … I always wanted to get in to shape and come out looking firme/cool

chicks in the barrio/ghetto usually love a guy that has the “fresh outta jail” look

I scammed on 3 different hynas within a few hours of getting out of Y.A. … same day!

They were all over me

@Martinez! LOL!

Yea Mexican food is pretty tasty, but most of it is made old school, which is with lard. But, then again, probably all Spanish culture use the old school ingredients. I had to stop eating the good ole Belizean cuisine, myself. Besides the lard, corn and flour and meat made with lard just aint gonna get you that hot bod.

Eating is 80% of looking good and being healthy, while 20% is exercise.

Good to know about who keeps their bods tight. I do notice that the Spanish gang members normally have guts or big belies. Which beer probably also contributes to.
Black gang members tend to not drink much 40oz and mostly hard liqueur and smoke, too.
