BOXING a ticket out?

Unread post by Lonewolf » June 30th, 2005, 8:03 pm

What is your take on Boxing as a way out of the Barrio or Hood?

So many young people give it their all, but few have what it takes.

Is it a non-realistic way out promoted by people with their own-self
vision ahead of reality? Kinda like all those many Karate schools?

What do you say?

Sometimes u got to do what u have to do in order to eat. So fighting is all that one knows so hey why not. Life is easier if you got proper connect or schooling.

it can be. if you're not gonna be in as a pro or as an amatuer, it's still something that you can do for fun instead of gangbanging. boxing itself teaches you a lot of things. for one it teaches both mental and physical discipline- dieting, running, training, staying in shape.

instead of taking your anger out on the streets, why not leave it in the ring.
