The Best Burgers/Dogs In Your Hood?

Unread post by Common Sense » February 15th, 2007, 2:33 pm

Who makes the best Burgers/Dogs/Sandwiches in your hood and why?

Is it a place where one can go order, sit down, and eat without fools trying to trip?

Two of my old favorites back in the day in L.A.

1. The original Fat Burger

Good Cheeseburgers- Big portion

2. Fabulous Burger in Hawthorne

Best Pastrami sandwiches-taste and size

I still think you can eat at both spots without problems, eventhough I haven't been in awhile.

I was on Gage near Vermont and noticed this Mexican/Soul Food stand on the corner. I thought, that's innovated considering all the black/brown violence. I wonder if the food is any good?

A good burger place in San Antonio is called Chris Madrid's. It's not in the hood but they have great tasting burgers and good fries too. Their website is below.

Poor blue collar working class white neighborhoods always have a greasy burger joint in them. Always have and always will.

Is there much of a difference between the original fat Burger and a typical Fat Burger? Last time I was in LA, I wanted to try something different and so I ate at a spot called the Apple Pan. I thought it was alright and the homeboy didn't care for it.

@MMRbkaRudog- was that the one in West La on Pico across from the West Side Pavilion. If so, I've eaten there, and I agree it was just alright.

The Hat has really good pastramis and chili cheese fries too.

I've eaten at Doublez before, their food is pretty good.

Johnny's shrimp boat in Boyle Heights is good.

Legends Burgers is a good spot to eat.

Yea it's across from that mall.

As far as around my way. I don't think there's anything too special to mention. In-n-out has been mentioned. I don't think dogs are a big deal, but Mark's hot dogs is a local spot. Some people say it used to better.

There was a small place in HP, on Slauson, just past pacific called GUS Burgers. They were pretty good, and there is another place in W. LA on National and Sepulveda called Hamburger Habit which is pretty good as well.
