how could this be the best country in the world?
as long as we have poor people on the side of the road, police brutality, and war, we ain't no better than any other country. they tell you you have freedom but it's only so much. this country has had slavery and many other great tragedies.

Many countries in the world have had slavery. Even now in the Sudan, Arabs are enslaving the Dinka people but there is no doubt thast if you want a place that has opportunity, freedoms, education, and open to foreigners.

US allows more foreigners to become citizens more so that any other indutrialized nation...although there is much criticism about the justice system in the US you have to judge it state-by-state and I would rather be on trial in the US more so than any other country. You have a distance chance from getting a fair trial in China, Israel, Russia, or any Muslim country in the middle east or north Africa.

Our generation can make the US better over time, correct some of the injustice, minimize the prejuidices, and keep pressure of those that make the decisions.

You can take all your tuff talk about how hard it is here...pffff...u need to open your eyes and take a trip to a third world country, live there for about a month...then we'll see what you say about the good ol' U.S.A.

Word up. Throw on a backpack and bus/hike down into central Mexico avoiding anything that even looks like a resort town. There's no 911 there and if you call a cop be assured you're going to be bled dry on the spot. Good luck making it back if you're arrogant and/or naive. I've done it on more than two occassions and most of you don't have a clue. Hey, out do me and keep going into South America. See what's up. Lol.

BDL, I learned something for real you might appreciate. I'll post it when I have more time.

get the fuck outta here Ceral stupid ass mothphluka....

Before you talk stupidity, get that D-I-C-K out your mouth...

Michael Moore is not a communist. He's someone who's interested in showing the truth to the dumb, deaf and blind white americans. That's his target audience. Shit you must be an idiot, unions are a good thang too. They help the little people deal with the big Fish. USA the best country in the world?!?!? you must be either retarded or 10 years old. I've read your other posts, and you definitely need an ass whoopin' suckin up to everybody in every goddam post you write in.

Get some backbone kid.

Now to answer to others in here who got a brain in that head on their shoulders....

I'm livin' in Chile. The MOST west coast country in the world... why? look at the map and you'll see! LOL.

We don't really too much respect for american politics or in an "ignorant" way for americans. We see how USA bullies every fucking country in the world, and we don't like it. That's like the whole American approach. "Give me what I want, or I cut off your supplies and you die like the maggots you are". Thats basically the USA regime talk. It's happened. I've seen it and parents have seen it. Cuba has seen it, but has beat it. Our communist elected president Salvador Allende wasn't down with the Nixon or the CIA era, so what did they do? they sent money to the Right winged capitalists and helped boicot the country.

The big supermarket chains, owned by the wealthy Bourgouise right winged nazi-military-lovers stopped putting food on the shelves and blamed it on the Communist left winged parties. USA sent money to pay the bus drivers, transport companies to stop moving things aropund, cutting off supplies like i said. And everyone blamed the president. dammit. people like my parents tried to help out fighting the money-hungry-greedy maricones that were causing chaos... and what happened? the CIA infiltrated everything, fukkked up everything and handed money to the military coup who not only bombed the Goverment Palace forcing Presidente Allende to kill himself (good thing they didn't kill him, he preferred to die by his own hands, instead of being tortured) and they then killed thousands of other leftists. My parents were able to escape but mnay of their freinds were tortured or killed with American bought bullets.

This is just one country. But think of the chaos USA has planted like seeds in EVERY GODDAM COUNTRY. I think america and I hate it even more. Yeah you got toys, nintendos, gold rims for lowriders and all that shit... but you also got the whole world hating you!

Before anyone here feels atacked, let me say that the hatred is DEFINITELY not falling on your shoulders. I personally respect blacks, hispanics, natifve americans and whoever else has got fukkked by the white corporate Amerikkka. Fukkk Amerikkka.

Sorry alonso and everyone if i got too heated with passion and all. But reading this little kids' "I Love the USA"... I just want him to learn instead of spreading around the ignorance. I may not know too much about politics but I know hat my heart tells me.

Turkeys on the Moon... from Michael Moore

December 8, 2003

Dear Mr. Bush,

Well, it's going on two weeks now since your surprise visit to one of the two countries you now run and, I have to say, I'm still warmed by the gesture. Man, take me along next time! I understand only 13 members of the media went with you -- and it turns out only ONE of them was an actual reporter for a newspaper. But you did take along FIVE photographers (hey, I get it, screw the words, it's all about the pictures!), a couple wire service guys, and a crew from the Fox News Channel (fair and balanced!).

Then, I read in the paper this weekend that that big turkey you were holding in Baghdad (you know, the picture that's supposed to replace the now-embarrassing footage of you on that aircraft carrier with the sign "Mission Accomplished") -- well, it turns out that big, beautiful turkey of yours was never eaten by the troops! It wasn't eaten by anyone! That's because it wasn't real! It was a STUNT turkey, brought in to look like a real edible turkey for all those great camera angles.

Now I know some people will say you are into props (like the one in the lower extremities of your flyboy suit), but hey, I get it, this is theater! So what if it was a bogus turkey? The whole trip was bogus, all staged to look like "news." The fake honey glaze on that bird wasn't much different from the fake honey glaze that covers this war. And the fake stuffing in the fake bird was just the right symbol for our country during these times. America loves fake honey glaze, it loves to be stuffed, and, dammit, YOU knew that -- that's what makes you so in touch with the people you lead!

It was also a good idea that you made the "press" on that trip to Baghdad pull the shades down on the plane. No one in the media entourage complained. They like the shades pulled and they like to be kept in the dark. It's more fun that way. And, when you made them take the batteries out of their cell phones so they wouldn't be able to call anyone, and they dutifully complied -- that was genius! I think if you had told them to put their hands on their heads and touch their noses with their tongues, they would have done that, too! That's how much they like you. You could have played "Simon Says" the whole way over there. It wouldn't have been that much different from "Karl Says," a game they LOVE to play every day with Mr. Rove.

Well, if you're planning any surprises for Christmas, don't forget to include me. When I heard last week that you wanted to send a man back to the moon, I thought, get the fake goose ready -- that's where ol' George is going for the holidays! I don't blame you, what with nearly 3 million jobs disappeared, and a $281 billion surplus disappeared, and the USA stuck in a war that will never end -- who wouldn't want to go to the moon! This time, take ALL the media with you! Embed them on the moon! They'll love it there! It looks just like Crawford! You can golf on the moon, too. You'll have so much fun up there, you might not want to come back. Better take Cheney with you, too. Pretend it's a medical experiment or something. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for every American who's sick and tired of all this crap."

Yours,

Michael Moore

All I know of Michael Moore is what I see on his videos from the video store. My impression is of a goofball tearing at things and people bigger than himself to sell videos and be an underground star or something. Maybe if I watch more of his videos I'll come to a different conclusion?

Here's a site I ran across at http://www.moorewatch.com/

which says it's mission is the following: "MOOREWATCH is dedicated to unearthing the truth behind the doublespeak and falsehood that spews from the mouth (and keyboard) of Michael Moore on a regular basis. Moore is a disingenuous danger to this country, and his assumptions and assertions should not go unchallenged. The collective expertise and research abilities of the entire Internet are more than enough to debunk most of the nonsense Moore regularly puts forth as fact, and we at MOOREWATCH hope to be the clearinghouse for this information."

Don't hate me, I'm just the messenger. Heh.

Communism and socialism are good IN THEORY...but I dont think the people of this country would embrace it...especially the upper class. Everyone hear cares so much about their personal "freedoms" that they wouldnt be willing to let go of the smallest thing.

No country is perfect. I think most people feel that USA is the best country because of the freedoms given and the idea that anyone can succeed. Any country has pros and cons.

you know i almost didnt answer this post because of some of the comments that i felt would really make me say something mean...but i will try...i am 100 percent proud to be an american...we are the best country in the world, and i feel if you dont like it then leave...this is a country where there are countless opprotunities...and dreams can happen...people talk about the poor people in the ghetto....well you know what back in the 20's when there were no stupid social programs to help people out my grandfather would wake up at 3am and go to work all day and all night out on the water as a fisherman...you never heard him complain, he did it to make ends meet...and he was happy to go do it, because he was proud of his country...he was dirt poor, but he did it not only because he wanted to, but because if he didnt he would starve to death...he didnt have welfare or any of that non sense...and he wouldnt go on it if he could because he had too much pride...if you dont like this country or if you feel that "man yo, this country is racist to my black people) then leave, because your just taking up space and getting in the way of people who want to stride to be something!

You know it really cracks me up with this "love it or leave it" mentality.

Let's be realistic...Before I continue...I love this country..I love my city..my people..my culture..this land..I could go on and on..it's home and for the record I volunteered and served 4 honorable years in the Marine Corp.

BUT this is not the BEST country...simply because it's a fact. AND it's simple minded to even say this country.. or that country is better, worse, whatever.

It aint perfect nowhere and human nature is human nature whether your in Hawaii or Tel Aviv.

Here we got too much violence, racism/prejudice, drug abuse..etc.
It aint perfect but it's home.

BUT when you call it like it is... some mofo out there comes out with this "love it or leave it" crap.

There's a hell of alot wrong with this country as I stated already and voices gotta speak up and be heard!

Also I'm Chicano and DON'T EVER TELL A CHICANO TO GO BACK WHERE HE CAME FROM! WE HAVE A RIVER OF INDIAN BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH OUR VEINS AND OUR ANCESTORS HAVE BEEN HERE ON THIS LAND SINCE THE ICE AGE!

EVEN THOUGH I RAN INTO SOME STUMBLING BLOCKS GROWING UP AND EVEN HAVE MY PLACE IN THE CA PENAL SYSTEM, I HAVE TRAVELED TO 3 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. CANADA, THE NETHERLANDS AND FIJI. I WAS RECENTLY MARRIED AND WENT ON MY HONEYMOON TO FIJI. WELL WHILE STAYING ON THE NORTHERN ISLAND OF TAVEUNI, I HAVE TO SAY THAT FIJI IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. FIJIANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO POSSES LAND FOR FREE. THERE IS ONLY 15% OF "FREEHOLD" LAND THAT CAN BE BOUGHT BY FOREIGNERS. (FORBES, RED BULL, AND A COUPLE OTHERS ALREADY SWOOPED THAT UP) AND IT IS A NATURAL PARADISE THERE. NO OBESITY, NO CRIME, VERY LITTLE DRUGS, LOTS OF "KAVA", LOTS OF "WAHOO, MAHI MAHI" AND OTHER EXOTIC FISH, BEAUTIFUL CORAL REEFS, LIVING OFF OF COCONUTT TREES AND 80-85 DEGREE WEATHER YEAR ROUND, I ASK ALL OF U, TO PERSONALLY LOOK AT THE CITY, STATE, AND COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN AND COMPARE. IF U GET A CHANCE, GO TO FIJI AND YOU'LL KNOW WHAT I MEAN..ALRATO

The proof is in the pudding. The country is having a terrible time because of there free health care. If you offer free health care then guess what? More people are going to want health care and you're gonna have to raise taxes.

Switzerland economy is in the toilet and a perfect example how big government does not work.
