y.g.:

it's impossible to discuss gangs without discussing "ghetto life" in general. it's all good to talk about gang sets...but let's not leave out hair-weaves, welfare checks, crack heads, whinos, strawberries and church...the other stuff that goes on in the hood.

it does affect and strongly impact hood culture...that was my point...

get it??? let's talk a little about ghetto life and ghetto culture..

WHAT CLOTHES ARE HOT WITH GANG MEMBERS NOW?

WHAT ARE THOSE FOOLS DRINKIN'? 8 ball? Cristyl? Schlitz?

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO LIVE IN THE HOOD?

capser...WHERE on this site can i start the discussion of GANG FASHION AND GHETTO CULTURE

i don't know exactly where to start it...but it must be discussed...we can see if different gangs have their own style...

have they moved away from bandanas? saggin? baseball hats?

what's the new style?

How long has 47nhc, 46nhc, and 48nhc been active? In Alonso's list, he only has 46 NHC. Do those sets fall under the Four-O's?

Some WF thumbs from Tom Zimberoff's website at http://zimberoff.com

Once there, click on Portfolios, then click on Black and White Personalities. WF pics are at the bottom of the page.

Also, Graciela Iturbide does some amazing work with film on the Culture of Mexico and Mexicans in the USA including White Fence.

Sup WCRockets. I checked out that zimberoff site. Damn thats a trip. I wonder when those pictures where taken? The only on I recongnize in there is the older Cerquero Big Yogie de Los Spiders. The other heads I never seen or met before. Those dates supposedly by Joan Moore are way off. The OGs started in the late 20s and the Spiders did not start in 53. She has WF starting in 44, but by 1939 there were already articles about the WF gang in the LA Times. If she did here research correctly she good have brougth out correct info. Plus she left out clickas like my uncles clicka Monstro Locos, Tiny Locos etc. Then she says that the Little Spiders were from 74-81??? The Lil Spiders Started in 89. All those vatos were writers and most of them had familia from the neighborhood. The got recruited and started the Lil Spiders. They only called themeselves that for about a year or two at the most, then just became Spiders. I was active during this time so I know what Im talking about. Paz
Here's a laundry list of Pinoy(filipino) gangs in Cali (in no particular order):

Southern Cali(mainly Los Angeles/Rampart Area was the origin, spread out through the rest of L.A. to O.C. Counties, even out to Ventura & Riverside/San Bernardino Counties):
(STS)Satanas
(BNG?)Bahala Na Gang?
(RBS)Rebel Boys
(PR)Pinoy Real
(JFX)Jefrox
(MP13!)Mabuhay Pinoy 13
(HSG)Hellside Gang
(CYS)Crazys
(THS)Tropang Hudas
(LVM)Luzon Visaya Mindinao or Los Valos Malos
(FTM)FlipTown Mob
(CPC)Carsone Pinoy Compadres
(FS13)Flipside13
(FSG)Flipside Gang
(SRZ)Sarzana
(WSI)Westside Islanders
(SRB)Scott Royal Brotherhood
(WSB)WestCovina Boys
(WSR)WestSide Rollers
(TCS)Tres Cantos
(AKP)Akhro Pinoy or Alpha Khappa Rho
(TGP)Tau Gamma Pinoy or Tau Gamma Phi
(RPB)Real Pinoy Boys or Real Pinoy Brotherhood
(TST)Temple Street-Pinoy Locos

All right, stay up...
I'm from O.C., and used to run with some asian gangs when I was young. I knew some LVM's, but it stood for Luzon Visayan Mobsters. AKP was actually Akhro Krazy Piru, they started in Tustin after splitting off from ABC - Akhro Boys Crazy. ABC was a pretty big hood in Garden Grove back in the day, all Filipino, and loosely blood based, but AKP went full out blood. AKP ended up getting real big by jumping in anyone who asked and was mostly rich kids from nice areas in Irvine and Laguna hills, el toro , and other south OC cities. Also, 10 years ago or more, Sarzana was pretty big in Cerritos and West Covina, and they were all Filipino, but I know some girl from Fullerton that kicks it with them and she showed me a hood picture of them, and it was like 20 cholos. Not sure what happened there, used to be 100% asian from what I remember.

I don't even know if AKP's are even still doing things, but they never really had an actuall hood. there were just 20 or 30 ABC's that lived in tustin. when they split off into AKP they just started from there, but in the end, 90% of AKP's were from other cities. they also had a couple litlle clicks there too, I think one was track piru.
