I think white dudes claiming Sureno is alot different, considering alot of Mexicans Americans have white spanish ancestory as well, also white and mexicans have aliances which go back 50 years in the prison system.
If a white boy is from the barrio and he grows up around Surenos, then of course he will join a sureno gang, i think its different to a white boy wanting to be a crip, they are just opposites in the streets and prisons.

I was reading on another forum which is all Nortenos and they talk about Chicanos from the South like are a different race of people, but if they ever met a SS they would realize they are the same people just from a different part of California.
