Who Do You Consider A Black Leader Today?
There are many high profile black spokepersons such as Rev. Al Sharpton, and a few others. Who do you feel is similar or as popular as MLK as far as keeping up with black unity and civil rights.

I feel Majic Johnson is a good L.A. leader. He is out there doing the right thing at all times. First of all, I must applaud him for taking repsonsibility of his HIV status, and using his celebrity to make young people aware of it's dangers.
Secondly, he didn't take his cash and run. Majic constantly reinvest in South Los Angeles, which is predominently black and latino residents.
Eventhough he doesn't run for public office, he sort of an unoffical councilman. I wonder if many repects or even know, what he tries to do for the community.

Who else is hurling truth directly at the enemy of Freedom, Justice and equality?
Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X (after he realized the BS and was starting his own organization outside of NOI)

An analogy would be comparing MLK's Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Nation of Islam as two disparate systems running parallel to each other. Jessie Jackson not Farrakhan took MLK's mantel.X wrote:The Honorable Elijah Muhammad!!!! &The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan!!!!

And who taught Bro. Malcolm?
Others tried to swap him, but Brother Malcolm read the Quran and went to Mecca and saw real Islam, so he learned from that.
"typical"?
The typical anti-NOI response would be that he was some crazy guy in a crazy militatn organization
What I'm saying is that before he died he was right on track with tru Islam.
Read "Autobiography of Malcolm X"

I do feel the NOI does have it's place within the black community. Despite what some people may think, they do help those that are in need, and those that are looking for something else in their lives. We don't all have to agree on how we can to make something of ourselves, as long as we do something positive and proactive.
The NOI does try to give guidance and offer an alternative lifestyle to drugs, gangs, and prostitution for those that was once caught up. Hat's off to them for that, because maybe for some people, without the giudance and teachings of the NOI, they would probably be dead.
This organization also own and operate alot of businesses and commercial property throughout the U.S. So whether we agree or not with Minister Farrakan, he is doing something positive thousands of black people. So I feel he does have his place among black leadership in America.

We can all lead at many different levels, but if one is trying to lead on a national level, one needs to have his own baggage in full check. What a leader does and not do affects the whole tribe.whoknows wrote:what qualifies some one to be a good black leader in your opinion?
Doing popular things in the hood is great, it’s not about the recognition, it’s about the deed. Secondly not all black people live in the hood.whoknows wrote:someone in the hood doing positive stuff who doesn't get recognition for the things he does or some one on a popularity contest trying to b more popular than dr king and is getting recognition 4 the things they ain't doing.
I hear ya. I think Ali is alright and he does some good things, but I feel that there is a better candidate out there that would better serve the black community as a leader. Mr. Ali cannot preach positivity on one hand and have a scandalous lifestyle on the other. That sends a mix message to the community. The black community deserves better than that. Secondly, I feel he hasn’t had enough time to really get a grasp on himself and the politics of properly representing black people at large.whoknows wrote:not getting at u just want to know what your opinion is.

Our Brother has been teaching and trying to wake us up for over 50 years and we refuse to take heed. He has clearly outlined from the teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad everything our people need to do to overcome our problems overnight!!!! I'm sure once our Brother is not here to teach us, many will grieve or pay tribute just as we have done many other Black leaders, but we refuse to listen while they are in our midst.
Care to share? The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad everything our people need to do to overcome our problems overnight!!!!
I have an idea - Everyone without a degree goes to school and for those who can't afford it, all people with the ability to survive and still have more money donate to support students.
AKA Communism (WHICH DOESN'T WORK)
See the problem is those types of ideas for "instant" change rarely are realistic
I'm not the type of refugee to unreasonably call every "red" politic evil, because once you look at it, some socialists had some good intentions
But what was the truly evil thing about it?
Karl Marx said ALL RELIGION WAS FAKE, AND THAT DEITIES WERE INVENTED TO CONTROL THE MASSES, INCLUDING ISLAM, which is why it surprises me that X would think Fidel Castro was a good example when he said ALL religions (including Islam) were fake.
In North Korea they execute all Christians, and when this shipment of Bibles came in, they had all the elementary school kids do a "homework assignment" to do a scavenger hunt for a black book with a yellow cross on it and bring it to school. Before the kids got home their parents of those who brought one in were already sent to concentration camps
In Cuba, there is a strong Catholic background, so they have all the kindergardeners and other younger kids pray in class for candy. The teacher has them do that for a while then sayd "open your eyes" and of course no candy. Then the teacher says "now close your eyes and pray to Fidel for candy as loud as you can" During this time the teacher goes around putting candy on the tables, has them open their eyes, and says "now you know who to pray to."

ain't the hood where people need the most help? it sho ain't rich black suburbia.
what i don't understand is that their are alot of orginazations out here that seem to only help other rich blacks and it seems to me that the only time they come to the hood is when they can get publicity by standing up for an employee that got called a nigga at the coca cola plant or some shit like that. the only other time they come is when there is a disaster like katrina then thats when they got they hands out taking po peoples money then they put it in the form of sholarships for rich blacks that can afford college. it don't add up to me.

They are truly masters of the mass manipulation and con game.
Who else convinced completely reasonable, educated, and knowledgable human beings that a UFO is going to take all of the black people?
That God is a man name "M. W. Fard" and he was talking with Elijah Mohammad?
On top of that convincing people that this was Islam when in the Qu'ran it clearly says that there will be no prophet(contact with God) after Prophet Mohammad (not Elijah)?
Using the mass movement of black power and anti-whites into a pyramid scheme and convincing intelligent people that a "BIG HEADED SCIENTIST NAMED YACOOB BREEDED THE LIGHTEST HUMANS TO CREATE A DEVIL RACE THAT BECAME THE WHITE MAN"
And then years later backpedal on the devil-white theory and still keeping membership and existance by continued focus on hating whites?
And kill off one of their greatest spokesman when he realized this was not Islam and was about to start his own organization but yet keep their members from believing it?
The only other group that comes close in this day and age is the Scientologists.

lol but NOI doesn't even go as deep as 5% NATION, they are the NOI's NOI, they are to NOI what NOI is to Islam

I bet for Tom Cruise and other celebs they treat special and don't tell them this stuff.

Black people are varied economically and socially just as much as the color of skin (dark skin to fair skin), If a leader is going to represent black people, he/she must be capable to cross many lines and boundaries, articulate and intelligently capable to represent all blacks.whoknows wrote: "not all black people live in the hood" what do u mean by that?
A leader must be taken seriously not just by his own people, but by people he/she deals with directly. This is achieved by earned respect. A respected leader get things done for his people.
Yea, people in the inner cities or the lower socioeconmic class need the most help, but blacks in the surburbs are still black, and eventhough they may have more money, they still face some of the same prejudices. On some levels..all black people are in the same boat. Rich or not.whoknows wrote:ain't the hood where people need the most help? it sho ain't rich black suburbia.
I'm not familar with these organizations, but I do know that there are many organizations that are available for poor people. These organizations will give you job training, housing if needed, substance abuse help, and etc. Some of these orginizations can't meet there quota's, because no one is signing up. Opportunity is here in America for those that want it. I'm not trying to sound like a Jr. Republican, but when you travel the world, and you see how people from other countries don't have shit because their family didn't have shit for the last 100 years, don't have a chance in hell to "come up."whoknows wrote:what i don't understand is that their are alot of orginazations out here that seem to only help other rich blacks and it seems to me that the only time they come to the hood is when they can get publicity by standing up for an employee that got called a nigga at the coca cola plant or some shit like that. the only other time they come is when there is a disaster like katrina then thats when they got they hands out taking po peoples money then they put it in the form of sholarships for rich blacks that can afford college. it don't add up to me.
That's why people are trying like hell to risk their lives to come to America (despite all of our problems) to get theirs. Americans are so used to having everything laid out and shelved for us, that many of us "will not" work for anything anymore. The foreigner see's the opportunity and say's "As soon as I sneak into the country, I'm all over that."
Whoknows: Talk to people from other nations. First ask them, Why did they come to America?, then ask them, What was it like in their home country financially.
Poor blacks can make it with help, and the help is available today.

Oh the scientologist rabbit hole goes deep.
Just a tidbit: Check out their involvement in rear viewing occult research at the Stanford Research Institute. It helps explain the obsession with Martians and UFOs among remote viewers. Much of the information they derive through remote viewing sounds like recycled science fiction from the pen of Ron Hubbard.
As you probably already know, Scientology involves occultism of the highest order, including all of the lies from the serphent in the Garden teaching we are all uncreated omnipotent, omniscient beings called "Thetans" who created this entire MEST (Matter, Energy Space, Time continuum) in which we live. We created creatures as well, then incarnated their bodes. As they died and evolved to higher levels, we repeatedly reincarnated. Finally, having evolved to our present status as humans, we were so far removed from our origin as Thetans that we forgot who we are. Scientology puts one through a process that combines psychotherapy with Eastern mysticism taking one back to through their past lives on the road from Thetan to human peeling off the "engrams" (traumas) picked up along the way. When the process is complete they are considered "Cleared" and considered, by scientologists, to be operating Thetans (i.e. gods).
Anyone who believes that scenario and imagines they are an omnipotent, omniscient god is clearly under heavy delusion.
Obviously occult power is at work in remote viewing (check the stories of the military going to the Catholic Church because officers involved in the SRI experiments became possessed) and it's all part of the occult invasion predicted in the last days which someday will arrive. Hopefully I won't be here when it does... lol.
