Three men were wounded and a 16-year-old girl was paralyzed in separate drive-by shootings in southwest Los Angeles.
The shootings occurred in and around Hyde Park and Chesterfield Square and one of them may be connected to a shooting that occurred earlier in the week.
The girl was shot twice in her lower back near South Normandie Avenue and West 77th Street about 1 a.m. She was being treated at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood, however doctors said it appeared that she would be paralyzed, according to Sgt. Clint Dohmen of the 77th Street station.
A 16-year-old boy was driving a car when a gray Nissan Altima pulled alongside and one of them opened fire and struck the girl. The boy was not injured.
A man was shot in the stomach in the 2300 block of West 54th Street in the Chesterfield Square neighborhood about 10:30 p.m. Friday. He was expected to live.
Three other shootings occurred earlier in the week.
"That apartment complex (at the location of the shooting) is all gangsters (of the Van Ness Gang and the Rolling 40's)," said Sgt. Peter Casey, also of the 77th Street station.
The night before, a 63-year-old man was fatally shot and a 15-year-old boy was critically wounded. Two suspects were wanted in connection with the previous shooting.
All of the shootings within the 2300 block appear to be related, according to Casey.
Also two men were each shot twice in a drive-by shooting on 10th Avenue near Florence Avenue before 7 p.m., however their stories do not match, according to Casey.
One of the men said that they were walking when they were shot, and that they then went home, Casey said. Finding no one there, they walked to a fire department station and were taken to California Hospital Medical Center, he said.
The other man said that they were shot while they were driving down 10th Avenue, Casey said.
Police found a shot-up car with a bloody interior on 10th Avneue.
Both men were treated at California Hospital Medical Center and expected to live.

Against all Odds
It's amazing that the Brims served over the years surrounded by Crips. The 40z and 60's have been on they ass for years. I have mad respect for them niggas blood because they still be out deep. There a grip of other damus who stay in their hood. How deep are the Brims and VNGz. I've played ball at Crenshaw high a few times and only seen Rips.
