Jay-Z fell off since the late 90's, and 50 (The king of overhype) was always off. But since Jay-Z had his time, I'd have to say Jay-Z without a doubt. Fitty is just too wack!

I agree 100% on that one. 50 isn't even hip-hop to me, I think his music is in the genre as Britney Spears, Beyonce and Christina Agulera.

After blue print I think he fell off, I did not like bp2 or the black album that much. Jay-z should of never switch up and went after radio, his frist album a classic of course, i think he should of stuck to how he xame out and ran with it. Cause his 2 album most them songs was pop to me.

Jay-z's best albums Reasonable Doubt, Hard Knock Life, Blue Print, all 3 classics.

Jay-z had alot of good albums...They all were a sucess.....They all were good, in my opinion...But 50 cents one album tho "get rich or die tryin" was better than any of Jay-z's albums.....Their both good....Its hard to say coz jay-z has so much out there and now 50 cent has Dr Dre, which is going to make his music alot better than it really is......

YAAA! You know what, this has been done to death lads and lasses! But, I agree with most threads - those acts are pop acts, same as Britney etc as said. JayZ has more natural talent, but so what, I find both acts over-produced babyfood for the unthinking masses anyhow. They arn't hip hop, simple as. They are pop and I guess that though I ain't got no time for that, my little bretherin have, so I can't really knock it so much!

Wanna talk about hip hop - talk about Dead Prez or others in the real hip hop yard...

NEVER BEEN A FAN OF JAY-Z, THE BLACK ALBUM WAS FUCKIN WACK IN MY EYES. THIS FOOL JUST TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE BEST TWO RAPPERS GETTING TAKEN OUT OF THE RAP GAME. i got reasonable doubt, which is a classic, of course.
since then, he just got worse and worse
now, wot a lot of ppl dont know about 50 cent is, hes been around a long time in the new york scene, and has only really blown up the last couple of years. ok yeh, he is a pop star, but he aint jus started he just got a break, which is wot every single rapper out there wants.
however the music is watered down, "gangsta" rap, as they say.
but the realest shit is always gonna be on the underground cos aint no legit radio station gonna play some proper shit

Jay-Z is so overrated. 50 cent makes better songs, plus he got Dre beats. Jay-Z was a nobody when Big and Pac were around, and when Snoop was still at it, and Nas. Jay-Z could never hang with the big boys. He was about to retire with Hard knock life vol 2. because he couldn't sell records. Soft and marginal music is what sells these days, and thats why he has had more success of late. If Big and Pac were around, and hardcore music was still allowed to be played on radio and TV like it was back then, Jay-Z would be Joe Buddens. same thing with 50.
