Depends who you ask.

At the "bottom rank" babies and ygs - they are told that it's for their hood, their click, and stuff to make them feel (all gayness intended) "like a special part of a special group." So it's mostly claiming and banging on rivals (fight, shoot)

But at the very top levels everyone know the drugs control the whole show.

Compare it to working for the government - of course at some ranks there are people who actually care about others and fight for justice and equality but at the very top ranks the big dogs are pushing for money, oil, dominance. And this isn't just the current administration - George W. Bush is also a puppet. Whoever becomes the next US president, no matter how much of a Democrat or liberal they are, will end up extending the extending and prolonging the war in Iraq because Saudi Arabia controls the US policy in the Arab world and they would rather have a beaten down, tired, and broken Iraq so they can control the show, and they use their money and oil to control the US foreign policy.
