Because Koreans were considered low lives in Japan when they lived their most of them went into criminal life. They are basically what started the Yakuza. All the Early Yakuza bosses were zainachi koreans, they were Japenese Koreans.

they are, they dont really rely on guns ...more of fist and knives but guns are for some really important type shit

if you look at the history of the yakuza, the ones who started the biggest families were Koreans. Look at Yamaguchi Gumi for example. It is the biggest Yakuza in Japan with almost a quarter million members. while it has mostly japanese members, it was started by a korean living in japan and the leadership today still is made mostly of the same bloodline. Same goes for a lot of the bigger gumis.
