BRIEF STORY OF VERNON HOOD LOCOS13

Back in the mid 1990’s we were five members of Sur Mexicanos, or SMS 13. At the time of the Sur MexicanoS clique when we were only five members we changed our name to Vernon Neighborhood Locos primarily because we were catching excessive heat from the local gangs in the area, mainly the PlayBoyS.

We realized our name too long to hit it up on the wall, so we change it to VERNON HooD LocoS 13. We decided to strike the varrio up, so we put VHLS, or VHD X3 afterwards. The early members included Big Spooky, Trusty, P-man, Ghost, Lil Ricky, Tripper, Stomper, Crazy-Boy, Smiley, and Rakoon. Since the majority of us live on VERNON AVE we decided to keep Vernon Hood LocoS as oppose to Vernon Neighborhood LocoS, but it’s all the same, we claim City of Vernon as well.

From 1994 through 1998 our hood came up with other clicks such as VERNON HOOD ROOFTP LOCOS (VH-MLS inactive), VERNON HOOD MALOS (VH-PWS active) and VERNON HOOD PEEWEE (VH-PWS active). If your from the locos your consider an Oh Gee. Sevas RIP de VHLS is the first homeboy to get killed. Some of the female members included Flaca, China, Silent, Shady, Payasa, and Whisper, but as time went by we stop recruiting girls because we learn the hard way they are double trouble.

Our main enemy are the Playboys and it started with territorial dispute and escalated from us becoming apart of their gang, the homeboys did not approve of it, so we have beef ever since. Primera Flats started a beef with the homeboy Chilo when he was at a stop light on 23rd and San Pedro heading north bound when 3 figures approach him started hitting his car breaking his front windshield. He got away and the homeboys went back and retaliated. Other rivalries were with the following: BMS-Barrio Mojados-(on & off) the Street SaintS(STS) 43rd kukes this rivalry started in late 1996. Street Saints approached us and said we didn't go to any meetings so either join us or be against us so we decided to join them and were known as the Vernon Hood Street Saints, or VHSTS.

When we join with the Street Saints it was 43rd and 44th click, but tension-as it occurs on all hoods- culminating and we broke off from them. Our neighbor hood stretches from Vernon (South) crossing Central (east) to McKinley (west) to 42ndPl (north) we fight our way in the middle of all these others gangs.

interesting...what you round vernon around where it is pacific...and cross alameda to where it becomes central is that anyones hood...right on vernon ive seen a lot of heads out...not on the side streets but right on vernon.
