Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
That was an intense series at AT&T. did anyone see the series? if the Giants would've lost because of the blew calls today... game should have gone "Under protest"! Dodgers 2 out of 3 but Uribe walk off Home run saved the day. people talk about Yankees vs Red Soxs but on the west coast we got Giants vs Dodgers.

Phillies are looking good and so are the Yankees, you never know... but image all the home runs that could be hit in a Phi and NY series if they end up hooking up, both of those band box stadiums are a joke.

Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
You're right about both stadiums playing to the Phillies strength but to also plays to the Yankees strength also.
Anyway,
Phillies made it interesting today, I knew they wouldn't give in and almost came back but I'm glad The Rockies are making a series out of it but I expect the Phils will come out on top.

Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
I'll go for the Angels by default. Phillies do it again, that line-up is just too stacked. Rockies put up a good fight but Phi is the better team.
Anything can happen with these 4 teams, they're all good, but American league got the home field advantage with the All-Star game win.....
Now rewind back to the All-Star game outcome, maybe if Charlie Manuel would've picked Sandoval for a roster spot he could have had him pinch hit for Howard (who strikes out a lot) and struck out in an crucial spot in that game but none of this matters to the Giants now but it may matter to the Phillies and Charlie may regret it.

Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
Utley defense has been shakey but it doesn't matter Phillies are on fire. Cliff Lee has been on point and Howard has been stepping up, and every time I see Victorino that dude's in the mix of it (hate him) lol, not really. hard to bet against Phillies. not to get ahead of it but looking like Phi vs NY, that likely series should be excellent.

Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
i know but its just wierd cuz Chase usually plays gold glove level defense at 2nd.~J~ wrote:Utley defense has been shakey but it doesn't matter Phillies are on fire.
he's gonna need to clean that up cuz all of the 3 other teams in the playoffs have good lineups and leaving outs on the field can lead to disaster.
Especially with our shaky bullpen.

the Dodgers are done. Ryan Howard & Jimmy Rollins are the best I ever seen.

Excellent games last night, that's what the playoffs are all about.
Rollins ripped the heart out of the Dodgers last night.
Phillies vs Yankees World series, should be very, very good.

Angels gone but Yankees definitely the better team. ready for it man? the World series should be something else.
Btw, Big Mac getting back in baseball, reuniting with LaRussa as the Cardinal's hitting coach.

Re: Road To The 2009 MLB World Series
I think the W.S has got the makings of a 7 game series. remember, Yankees got home field advantage so I give the edge to them, but it's too close to call. Phi need to get to the NY starters or mid relieve because Mariano $ Rivera is lurking behind the curtains, if Phillies can do that and get a good start out of Hamels they definitely got a shot.
