Los Angeles is a great city, if you want it to be. It's the best of the best and also the worst of the worst. It all depends on what side of the see-saw you want to sit in.
I'm not really sure if this is a fair question for some. Many people grew up in L.A., and have no idea what this city is about past there block.
There is so much to take advantage of in L.A.
The number one thing is the weather.
*Beaches (free)
*State Parks (usually free)
*Museums (usually free)
*Festivals around the city several times a year (free)
*Mountains (hiking/picnics..free)
*Multi ethnic restaurants/Cafe's/Coffee houses.
*Theatre/Cinema's
*Nite clubs/Martini bar's
*Live music (national acts weekly)
*Adult sport leagues through out the city
*Kid leagues throught the city
*Ski/snow board (winter months...90mins outside L.A.)
*Surf/boogie board, swim (summer months)
This is just to name off the top of my head. The weather permits SoCal residents to do lot's of activity year round.'
Those that want to get in the G lifestyle, well that's here for you too.

Let's not forget our two great sister cities San Francisco ($$$$) and San Diego. Beautiful places to live.
Re: How much do you love living in L.A
The only thing that really holds me back from moving there permantly is my family back here in maryland and that cali is very liberal...and that doesnt go well with me.

Well that all depends. Cali has living for everbody. That's what so good about this State. If you are from a conservative background, that are more conservative cities within Cali than not. It all depends on what's you're taste.Tank wrote:cali is very liberal...and that doesnt go well with me.

LA is a cool town. great weather, nice women, differnent cultures if you love the mix like i do, crime is not that bad compared to other cities. Although there is a lot of crime, there are alot of people here too, but the crime rate and murder rate is acceptable for a city of 3.8 million. The beaches, malls for shopping everywhere, everything you need.

well to me, the weather would already be a reason to move to La.
Having 2 or 3 months of permanent sun is just not enough for me...

In certain parts of Cali, i find it a bit easier to be in interracail relationships.
For example, people like my Father (South East Asian) and my mother (American/Caribbean Black) seem to interact within their community pretty well.
However, "Race" does become an issue when you go to certain parts of L.A and even San Fransisco.

^^^^^^i feel u dawg. if i had to do it over i would have never moved to hawaii. hawaii is nice, dont get me wrong. but, it's boring straight up. espescially if u come from a place like los angeles. hawaii is only good to vacation not to live. im still trying to convince my wife to move back home. tommy's, in n out, going to the indoor swap meets. partying at hermosa beach when they have reggae nights. going to venice, kicking it with the homies in carson.........etc.....etc...........

im from brooklyn but i lived in long beach CA for 4 years.
i like the swap meets and the weed and the women and the cars and the over all lifestyle. being from brooklyn, LA is like so spread out and flat if you know what i mean. i like in & out burgers too they were real good. i lost alot of homies over those 4 years. i didnt like that part to much. theres nothing like driving from LB to sunset blvd on a nice cool night, with the top down, smoking on some OG kush just chillin.

Livin in LA
I was born and raise here on the east side. Moved out after dropping out in the 11th grade and been all over the US until returning to Kali 7 months ago. I dig the perfect weather, good herb, several option for shit to do, job opprotunities, laid down easy going people, and my real homies - loks I grew up with. I love LA but I wouldn't raise my future kids or base my family here. The reason being there's no safe place in the city. You can't avoid the drama and violence. In my opinion LA is the most dangerous place for a black male no matter what you do gang bang or work a 9 to 5. It's just a matter of time before you end up in a dangerous situation. It's fo sho safer to live in the subburbs but you have to watch the mexican gangs that trip on blacks. I think the women out here are wack as hell. Yeah they look good, in shape, and bangin body but they on some BS mentally. Most of the females want a true thug or a rich baller nig who's going to spend big $ on them.

man, i've mostly been to san diego where i got relatives, but i love it down there...as long as you got the money to afford living a normal life, it's almost perfect...still, i thought it's expensive out there, gas, rent, all that shit is much more expensive than most of the other parts of the US....still i wanna hear people speak on prices and living cost out there, compared to other states , because i havent been to cali for more than a couple of weeks and i dont feel i know enough

KOST OF LIVING?
sHIT ther'e onlt a few places in cali where I know the living expenses are affordable. LOng Beach, Barstow, and near the Oregon border. Most of my family and homies in LA inherited their homes from their grandparents and just pay taxes. A two bedroom house will cost you on average $1400 a month, the same house in Barstow will cost you $600. The average person I person I know in LA makes $14 an hour and here in Barstow makes $7. Rent is keep here but it's almost impossible to get a job here in Barstow. Here you'll see like 10 blacks and mexicans in a 2 bedroom apartment. Most of the white folkz here are broke too. 15 of them in a trailer LOL.
i cant say i like livin here very much at the moment , but when ur younger your in a different mind set bein a young black male , its more like " i dont give a fuck , smoke weed , drink alot , do or die , if ur in that mindset out here its good cuz u dont give a fck but when u lose somone close shit changes i havent had that much tragedy until losein my lil bro that i was really close to to bangin
