I think he lost his fucking mind and did something really stupid. He wasn't facing life in prison so saying he was doing it to survive just won't cut it.The first rape trial was a mistrial and one member of the jury stated in an interview that he was not convinced Nichols was guilty. In a worst case scenario let's say the prosecutor made a great case the second time around and he was found guilty. He probably would have served five to ten years and would have still had many years of freedom on the outside.
Instead he killed 4 innocent people and proved to be an even sorrier piece of garbage than was originally thought. I think he is an animal and I hope that he gets the death penalty.
