A teen-age boy was in critical condition after what may have been a gang-related fight in the Sonoma Valley early Saturday, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department said.
The injured teen was one of 10-to-15 people reported to be fighting on Lucas Avenue in Boyes Hot Springs around 2 a.m., authorities said. When deputies arrived, they found him lying on the ground, unresponsive, with major head trauma, authorities said. An update on his condition was not available Saturday morning. The sheriff’s department did not release his name. He was said to be in his late teens. Witnesses provided a description of a vehicle seen leaving the area after the melee, and officers from an unidentified agency stopped a vehicle matching that description, the sheriff’s office said. Those inside the car are believed to be related to the fight somehow and were still being questioned Saturday morning, authorities said.
