One man was killed in the unincorporated Athens neighborhood. The other shooting occurred on Florence Avenue early this morning.
Two men were killed and another injured in overnight shootings in the South Los Angeles area, authorities said.
An unidentified man was shot to death in unincorporated Athens in the 1200 block of Geddes Street about 8 p.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Diane Hecht of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
Hecht said the man was later declared dead at a hospital, and his name was not released. No other details were available, she said.
About 3 a.m. today, a 33-year-old Latino man was fatally shot and another Latino man wounded in a shooting in South Los Angeles, police said.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Florence Avenue, said Officer Norma Eisenman, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman.
The 33-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. The other man, shot in the shoulder, was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The incident is believed to be gang-related, Eisenman said.
