Home > All News > Hudson family News William Balfour indicted in slayings of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew Tribune staff report December 31, 2008 A Cook County grand jury has indicted a Chicago man accused of killing actress Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew. The indictment of William Balfour, 27, was announced Tuesday during a court appearance. Authorities allege Balfour entered the family's Englewood home Oct. 24 and fatally shot Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57; brother, Jason, 29; and nephew, Julian King, 7.
